His main point was the Clemens can make tough throws. He showed a throw down the seams between two defenders. Also that he places the ball well to protect his receivers. He was really excited over the pick. We can only hope he's right.
Clemens? I hope Tangini made a good choice... I would have perferred some RB but I guess runningback is not a concern to the FO...(sigh)
Hagan would be a good pick-up... don't think he'll fall much further, though. he was supposed to be the #4 receiver in the draft.
I'm glad they took Clemens over Croyle, 2 O-Lineman in the first round is boring but its the smart pick to make
I really like Mike Hass. Derek Hagan has some issues, but to get him now would be good value. Brian Calhoun would be a decent pick, especially now that the Jets have linemen.
I wouldn't mind Kai Parham at linebacker or Maurice Stovall at WR. Stovall has a chance to be great, and he is the tall framed WR that we need.
Which was going to be my point, even though that strong offensive line at wisconsin helped him mightily, the Jets just spent two first rounders on top prospect o-linemen, so maybe we can recreate some of his success. Hass is a good pick, smart with good hands.
Maybe we'll see some forward progress in next couple years. We do have a lot of holes, another reason to want more bodies.
My thing is if we took a RB now, does that mean we've lost confidence in Askew, Blaylock, and Houston? I would like to give those guys another year and see what happens.
Depends on what the new staff thinks about Houston and Blaylock. If the Jets draft Calhoun or P.J. Daniels, I'll betcha Blaylock or Houston would get cut.
