So good pass blockers hold and need to work on their technique? Retarded minds like to know.

They're fucking rookies. Even if they're top in the NCAA they still need to work on their technique. Weak argument.

Offensive linemen hold all the time - it's a little ridiculous.

The guy's a natural talent at the position. He's absolutely dominated in a conference with defensive linemen that are usually very undersized. The guy's going to have to work on his technique to become an All-Pro guard in this league.

You expect him to be this perfect prospect coming out of college when not a single prospect is perfect coming out.

It's funny that you think you're right about this.

His technique and his pass blocking are not the same. He's a raw prospect coming out of a lesser known, mid-major conference. He has great feet and he's very athletic. The few weaknesses that he has can be fixed by coaching.

yeah, when he gets beat. Its not like he's a turnstile. He's a good pass blocker, but all pass blockers do get beat. Guards get beat more than anyone else.

When he gets beat, he holds.

Mr. E even called him developmental...

    you are straw man.

As mr. E pointed out several times already in this thread. Iupati was not playing his natural position at the Senior bowl. Combine that with all the pressure that is on these kids during that week, he was trying to hard and overcompensating and in order not to get beaten, he was holding.

We already said during games that every OL player holds several times throughout any given game. So yeah it wouldnt exactly be too hard to pull clips of any lineman holding and then follow it up by saying they need work on their technique.

Also these guys are in college, everybody is in need of work on their technique at the next level, some more than others, but everybody needs some tweaking.

Iupati is considered the best guard prospect in this draft for a reason. Thats because he is going to be a great player at the next level, and is very likely to become a perennial pro-bowler.

If that's the case, why do many consider Pouncey is ready to play immediately? Will he not be a "fucking" rookie as well?

BTW my initial statement which your buddy Mr. E(Go) attacked me on was:"Iupati will be able to contribute to the running game early but at this point he is not ready to pass block at the NFL level" because as I explained later he holds and needs to work on his technique. Pretty much exactly what Mayock says a couple days later. I don't believe I'm the one with the wrong arguement.

You want to know what Mayock also said:

Iupati won't have to come in here and play right away. He'd be able to sit and learn behind one of the best guards to ever put on a uniform. Callahan would be able to coach him up and make him into an elite guard.

Are you actually calling me out for having an ego when everyone in this thread sees my point?

You are the one having an arguement with yourself about Iupati not being the best OG prospect in the draft and being a potential all pro. You find the poster who disagrees with you on that and attack him cause it's not me. If you READ what I wrote, you'll see I felt he would struggle in the pass game early on in his career (1-2 years who knows) because of the SAME EXACT REASONS you wrote above and Mayock said today. So how exactly am I wrong? I can't help the fact tha you are so quick to prove how much smarter you are than everyone else when it comes to the draft, you do not bother to stop and really read what people are saying.

...because you're not saying anything worth a damn.

Saying that Iupati is a poor pass blocker is wrong. I'm not going to sit here and let an uninformed poster like yourself post Wes Bunting articles and bullshit in my favorite forum on TGG.

You should tell by now I don't really need validation from others. Everyone seeing your point, whatever that is, just tells me that everyone, like you, must have struggled at reading comprehension in school. Go back and READ, I already said he is the best OG in the draft. My point AGAIN for the maybe 18th time was that he still needs work in the pass blocking department.

LOL all right good cop. Too bad I didn't say that. You do know that everything that is written is still on this thread. You do not have to put words in people's mouths.

Mike Mayock pointed out that Iupati held all the time at Idaho. Was he not playing his natural position there either? Was he overcompensating because of the pressure of the Idaho regular season?

he said he needs work on his technique.

Didn't say he held 'all the time.'

WHEN he gets beat, he holds. Not he hold all the time. He's still a damn good player and prospect.

Here is what he said VERBATIM in response to Casserly saying that Iupati was the best interior lineman prospect over Pouncey even though he has some technique issues and needs a year or so to develop. It sure sounds like he is saying he holds all the time or at least a lot of the time to me. But hey English is my second language and I'm retarded as Mr. E(Go) pointed out.

"You know it's interesting cause that's why I put Pouncey ahead of him. Because I think he is ready to plug and play day 1. He can anchor against the 34 noses. He did it with Cody. He did it against Dan Williams. He comes out of the toughest conference in the country. I think you plug him in. he can anchor, he can pass protect, he can snap and pull. And at the end of the day he is a day 1 starter with Pro Bowl capabilities.

I also believe, like you do, Iupati is a future Pro Bowler too. Iupati's only issues to me are what you referenced is technique based. And has those long grabbers. He's the best holder I've seen in the entire country. He did it at Idaho; he did it at the Senior Bowl."

And here's what I said VERBATIM. As you can see it's not what Mr. E(Go) is pretending I said for the sake of his fake argument.

you stated he wasn't ready to pass block in the NFL, even at his natural LG spot.

The experts didn't say that, they said his pass blocking technique needs work, not "he isn't ready yet."

Iupati can still block, its just not as good as Pouncey. He's still an elite prospect.

First off I appreciate your respectful debate on the subject. That seems to be a lost art on this board.

To me you are arguing semantics. The reference to him not being ready was in regards to his technique. Conversely, Pouncey is "NFL ready" as it pertains to pass blocking because he does not have those technical issues and has faced NFL caliber defensive linemen (i.e., Williams, Cody, Atkins...etc.) thoughout his college career. On paper one would expect that he'd be able to start right away and struggle less than Iupati who not only has those technique issues but also would have to get adjusted to the level of competition.

My comments was in response to a poster who suggested getting Iupati and trading Faneca for a day 2 pick. I was expressing that I would not do that because I don't think he could or better yet should start right away. Despite Mr. E(Go)'s fabrications, at no point did I question the fact that he is an elite prospect. Just that he needs some work and that the Jets should go after guys ready to start or contribute on day 1.
