i was watching the game with my bro and dad. we are die hard fans. i think thats one of the first times i ever saw my entire family jump up and scream GO! you mother&%$er GO!. it was insane and i hope many more of those happen this football season, just not to the jets. too much drama for me i nearly had a heart attack, my whole body was shaking after that play. great game, where was that defense and attack the whole rest of the game?
i was talking in the phone with a friend, and had just said that i couldn't believe the jets were gonna lose the game. we were discussing how shitty the jets were, and then we both went nuts on the phone. it was pretty awesome.
Why? The Browns were going in for the winning score not trying to run out the clock. If there is any comparison for this play it's the original Miracle at the Meadowlands.
"The Fumble" was the nicknamed slapped onto the 1987 AFC Championship Game. The Eagles-Giants regular season game from 1978 is usually referred to as "The Miracle at the Meadowlands." In the '87 AFC title game, the Broncos led the Browns 38-31 in the waning moments. Earnest Byner was stripped of the football at the 3-yard line by Jeremiah Castille. The Broncos recovered and purposely took a safety a few moments later and the score ended as 38-33. Dick Enberg was amazed. He referred to Castille as "a reject from Tampa Bay." I was in elementary school at the time and I didn't understand that Enberg was referring to that fact that the Buccaneers had released Castille after the 1986 season. The word reject was used by me and fellow classmates as a put-down. The term was synonymous with "dork" or "ugly person." So for me to hear "a reject from Tampa Bay" during a football telecast really surprised me.
At the usual sports bar...We do our JETS chant after every TD and the whole bar just revolted against us. When Buffalo returned the KO for a TD, the place went bonkers...Then we see the flag and we do our cheering...When Buffalo took the go-ahead lead, the whole bar focused off the Bucs and just rooted AGAINST us. The fumble occurs and the Jets score and the 6 of us were louder than the whole bar combined...Screw them...Just in disbelief that it happened. Couldn't imagine the pandemonium at the Meadowlands when it happened.
That is a great feeling to be able to do that in a bar full of douchebags. All these Brady-loving Pats bandwagoners were cheering like crazy when the Pats came back against the Jets in that Thursday night game. When we kicked the winning FG I stood up and screamed "YEAH!" It felt good and you are right - fuck 'em.
Yeah me and my friend who is a Bills fan watched the game at a bar. He was jumping up and down when they got that last first down and rubbing it in. i ended up getting the last laugh
