People cheer when someone gets knocked the fuck out in boxing all the time. Football is a violent sport. He got up, walked off the field so you already know he was neither paralyzed nor was his leg broken apart or anything like that. So you could already that besides from the .0001% chance that he literally got so hard he was going to have a brain hemorrhage later on that he was at least not gonna die. Combine that with all this guys bullshit and it was the most justifiable heckling of an injury I have ever seen. Trust me people wouldn't have been cheering if it looked like he died and if he wasn't the most annoying player in the NFL nobody would have cared.
no reports of a concussion = no concussion as far as the conversation is concerned. the only meaningful conversation to be had is one that deals with what we know, not simply speculates and exaggerates simply to defend a position. and what we know today is he got an owie. I don't get hysterical when my two year old daughter gets an owie and I'm not going to get hysterical when a 40 year old pro athlete does.
This isn't boxing, the object in boxing is to knock outb your opponent and they are cheering for the guy that knocked the guy down not for the fact that the other guy is knocked out. I'd love to see what would happen to you w/ that "owie". Yes, comparing your 2 year old falling down to a person getting hit in the chin w/ a helmet is the exact same thing
what would happen to me is irrelevant. the issue is whether the fan reaction to the play is out of line or not. of course that would depend on the severity of the injury, which makes my analogy about owies completely relevant. for someone who touts his logical analysis so much, you sure aren't utilizing it in this situation. either than or you are being dishonest in your interpretation of what I have said, since it couldn't be simpler to grasp, to defend your ridiculous position, or even worse simply do not grasp the argument being presented to you.
It is out of line, it's a sad bunch of people who need to cheer b/c someone is injured and being carted off the field. It doesn't depend on the severity, an injury can look like nothing at the time and still be a serious injury. Please send me the rules on when it's ok to laugh and cheer when a player gets hurt.
how sad that you require guidance to know whether something is serious or not and thus how to react. even more sad than that would be that you don't posses the ability to evaluate situations on an individual basis and thus react identically to all situations. there is a word for that, it is a hysteric. reasonable people know inherently that a bruise isn't as bad as a broken bone, and thus react accordingly.
I'm a civil adult, not some lowlife who cheers injuries. It doesn't matter if it's a sprained ankle or a broken nail I'm not cheering when someone is hurt. Reasonable people don't cheer injuries regardless of the severity.
Favre showed his age by telling the guys in uniform behind him, "Hey thanks for kicking England's ass".
You're such a good person. I admire you. I admit it. I'm a crude lout. I'd laugh my ass off if Favre got hit so hard that he crapped in his pants.
I remember that game vividly. there was a HUGE ovation when Brady came into the game. I would hope that's more frustration w/ the way things were going on the field than cheering for an injury. I think that is what happened w/ Chad 3 years ago here but there are some folks rooting for injuries for some reason.
Sorry junc, but that is baloney. I remember that game vividly myself, and the stadium was nearly dead silent while Bledsoe was taken off. Bledsoe still had hero status in NE. The crowd didn't get back into the game until Brady came in and drove the team in for a score.
They cheered wildly when Brady came into the game. Remember, he didn't come in right after the hit. That was a 3rd down play and NE punted. Bledsoe actually came back into that game but when Brady came in for that last drive they gave him an ovation that was all about how they felt about Bledsoe. Brady never drove the team for a score so you cannot remember the game that vivdly.
