I definitely think that Favre deserves some of the blame. He was holding the ball for way too long on a lot of plays. Plus he was off target on some key plays, not to mention the pass to Hall and the jump ball to Cotchery. I'm not sure how much that has to do with play calling.

Cotchery fell on that play. Favre did lead to the game tieing FG and we could have won if Baker caught the catch in OT. There is plenty of blame to go around on this loss. Other than Jones, the team wasn't playing very well and the coaching stunk.

he was holding on to the ball so long because schottenfuck cant call a decent play to get receivers open. how do you expect favre to throw the ball when no one is open. granted he made some mistakes but no real blame can be put on him.

This had to be the most opportunities for a team to win a game - EVER! I'll go as far as to say the Jet's deserved to lose this won. When a team hands you the game on a silver platter and you don't take it, it's your own fault. The playcalling was garbage. Too conservative and utter bs.

Favre played poory, the o-line played poorly, the play calling was bad and the raiders defense played very good. I was yelling at the TV asking for a damn play action pass.

Regardless, this thread being created at the end of the 3rd quarter is an epic fail.

Is that the play's fault or the player's fault? I'm not saying BS is innocent in this loss, I'm just saying that this loss was definitely a team effort. Everyone contributed to this loss including Favre (excluding TJ).

Man I was waiting for that play action too. Holy crap. One of them would have ended the game in OT.

I only saw limited parts of the game but what I did see was the slip in the end zone by Cotchery that led to an INT. Obviously we could have had at least 3 and maybe 7 if he doesn't slip. The Baker slip in OT was another play I caught. Damn, if not for his slip the Jets probably win.
Like you said.....lots of blame to go around. The defense made plays late in the game when they had to. They stiffened when it looked like the Raiders would drive in for a close FG. Props to Janikowski for nailing that long ass FG.

From what I saw Favre was playing pretty well other than his 2nd INT. Really no excuse for that throw. His completion % was good, despite the stat sheet at the end of the day. About 5 of those incompletions were from spiking the ball to stop the clock.

No doubt. I understand that running on 1st down was good because of the success at doing it, but weren't the jets always going run, run pass? Why not play action on 1st or 2nd down once in a while? Ridiculous.

Bad News Bears Play Football 2008

We made just as many mistakes as the Bad News Bears, what was pathetic.

once again spending money on players isn't gonna fix a helpless coaching staff. it's hard to think this team isn't doomed unless it dumps everything and starts from scratch. oh well

but the talent is in place...this should've been a slaughter.

Brees was carving up the Raiders' secondary with 3rd stringers last week!!!
