Listen I don't know if you can spin it brillant stragedy why Lane kiffin was fired. Both sides made alot of mistakes. I can't tell you Tom Cable will be the answer either.(maybe Raiders will luck out ) What I can tell you despite all these problems, Raiders future looks very bright. This season is long way from being over for the Raiders. Hopefully the players, management and the fan base can get on the same page. Whether it was kiffin fault or not, he was tearing apart the raider nation. With Kiffin ouster, one thing is clear Raiders can concentrate on winning games, and not worrying about all the off the field circumstances every single week.
Except for the fact that Kiffin's contract dispute is going to be the number one topic in Oakland until it's settled. But who cares? It's not about football in Raiderville anymore, it's all about Big Al proving to everyone that he's still Big Al.
Listen You can kill AL Davis for the amount of head coaches he has hired the last six seasons. Thats justified and it a big reason why his team record has been as atrocious it been the last six seasons. Al Davis for all purposes is the Raiders General manager. gruden won that one superbowl with Tony Dungys players(he didn't build that team) and because that dope Bill Callahan didn't think it was necessary to change the terminology that Gruden used for the play. (grudens playbook) Tampabay players knew where ther Raiders were going everytime( Callahan should have been fired right after that game for being that stupid) Please you wish tannebaum was one half the general manager that Al davis is.

Al Davis this decade has gotten the talent to make two afc Championships and One superbowl. (could have been three straight afc Champships if not for tuck rule) Try to make one AFc Championship this decade. Lets see W Sapp is a credible source . probably not, but until Gruden wins one with his own players, NFl people are not going to give him his due. (they know it was with Dungy players) Gruden having like 25 QBs his time in Tampabay just shows how much better Gruden looked with Al Davis getting him the players.

Just like all of the rest of the failed HCs, Callahan was hired by Al Davis and used the offense that Gruden had devised. And Al Davis certainly didn't puppet Callahan and tell himself "I'm gonna beat this cocky little bastard with his own offense," forcing BC to continue to coach that very same O to keep the players consistent. Callahan was just the relay man as Al Davis sent a hand-off trophy to Gruden. General managers make a huge decision in choosing head coaches. Davis has some good scouting personnel around him, I'll give him that. They draft and sign solid players well. Kind of like Snyder did in the early 2000s minus the huge bankrolls - well, until recently at least. Al Davis fired so many coaches that he forgot to keep the one that would have won him a trophy. How is that for an efficient GM?
