The franchise had been rebuilding for a decade and a half.

Breaking it down into regimes just provides some context but it changes nothing.

I mean that’s literally what I just said. we’ve failed at every rebuild since 2012. We are two weeks into the current rebuild. All of the other ones failing doesn’t mean shit. It just means we are more likely to think this one is going to fail as well.

This isn't yet a rebuild, a rebuild is when you trade your players away and stock up on picks, instead we signed a journey man trash Qb and didn't even trade Breece Hall away who won't be part of this team next year. Please look up the definition of "rebuild". If we wanted to rebuild we would of never signed Fields and let Taylor stink it up. We are not rebuilding we are stuck in no mans land.

Funny, I said the exact same thing when JF ran out of gas and just dropped. I don't think the kid was EVER in this game today from the opening series. Mentally he was defeated. He looked like a guy that still doesn't get the hang of being a QB. The OC was intimidated by the Bills and it showed with that preseason vanilla gameplan he came up with. Tanner looked every bit the rookie OC today.

Glenn has his work cut out for him. I wish him luck cause... he's gonna need it.

Sauce and Wilson were worth the extensions. I get Sauce isn’t Revis but he’s good enough - a top ten CB anyway and at the some point the franchise is going to have to stop trading away top players for picks. It’s like a merry-go-round. The OL has some good players- needs to gel. They can get out of Fields contract end of year if need be. This regime IS going to have to hit on the right QB come draft time….

Have to give them more than two weeks. Did you really expect them to win today?

No sane person expected a win today.. Nobody expected a no-show either.

Agree, his presser was even more disappointing than the game... BC from the NYPost asks what he was thing punting on 4th and 1, without admitting it, he essentially (this is my take) said he had no faith in the O, QB and maybe even the OC playcalling....

Media ask about the game and players and he kept saying need to see the tape...I ask, why, your eyes didn't deceive you... your team was poorly coached, not prepared and worse gave up.

Cut Clemmons...bench fields..he maybe if he has a concussion, As for the OC, I can understand his relundance to pass when you got JF but Wilks is a effin disaster...62 pts in two games... man.

I guess at this point my perspective is that they haven’t been rebuilt until they actually contend, and they haven’t even contended for a playoff birth since 2015.

Dysfunctional until proven otherwise at this point, regardless of who holds what title.

And they are all connected because they all accomplished the same things: losing and setting the next guy up for failure.

I think we might be the worst team among Pro sports teams in history.

Saw the graphic during the game highlighting that the Jets are the joint worst team since 2018 (which seemed a bit of an odd year to select) - in that time they've drafted 2 top three quarterbacks and yet somehow we have nothing under centre and this is the #1 reason that we are constantly rebuilding - if you don't have a top tier QB then you are never going to have consistent success and the Jets seem to find it impossible to draft or develop a QB considering they haven't had a franchise QB in multiple decades (and this has been consistent through tons of different coaching staffs).

We are not rebuilding, we just blamed everything on Saleh and Rodgers and tried to patch some holes up and run it back, this is putting a bandaid on a shot gun wound and trying to show people shot gun wounds heal by themselves. Mostly everyone came back from last years teams and we threw more money at free agents.

I'm not sure what everyone expected. The Jets had one of the worst rosters in the league coming out of last season. That's why my take-away from last week's game was "that might have been about as good as we can expect the Jets to play (with the exception of the Gipson fumble)". It's just a shitty team and even the "stars" aren't really the type of stars that can carry a team. Buckle up it's gonna be a real long season.

This is so troubling on top of everything else - a guy who's fighting for his NFL career, trying to prove he's more than a lifetime backup, is checked out/lost in game 2! Wow, did he think after his solid game 1 performance it's time to coast? I had hope JF would play well enough this year to show that he could be part of the future, guess not...

Atleast the browns made the playoffs 2 times in the last 6 years, and have a decent coach, the Jets are a special kind of suck and do the impossible in a league where usually teams rebuild quick and its easy to close the gap of parity. Only the Woody's can constantly keep fing shit up and draft 4 bust qb's in a row and keep hiring incompetent morons to run this team.
