Totally.........so wasn't that awesome when Brett won that game after his father died? I know, I know, Chad and Kellen having a competition. Winner starts. Going to the...uhhhhh...Super Bowl? Yeah, that's it. Going to the SUPER BOWL Baby!
I dont have a problem with giving a day off....some teams have just had their first practices, so this is no big deal!! I think Mangini had this day marked as an off day but didn't let the team know until the last minute.
this is what makes the jets awesome. fans like these that have a 6th grade education. woddy. he will always be known as woddy to me from now on. i cant stop laughing at this:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:
they definitely had to cancel practice today.first they had to fly to tampa convince them that they should definitely give gb a 1 for favre then fly to minny and convince them that cp is worth a third.fly back to tampa to offer them minny's third for garcia then fly to gulfport to convince favre that he needs to file his papers by tuesday or everyone was gonna stop paying attention to him.it would have been alot easier to have a conference call but minnesota insisted no phone conversations.if you think i'm making this up watch how many times mangini yawns and blows his nose to try to get his ears to pop tommorrow
Well, this was an interesting tread with seven pages of speculations on why the practices were cancelled. I find it hard to believe that the whole Jets organization would stop on their tracks to pay homage to Bret unless there is something that Tanny and Eric want done really bad for the betterment of the team and even then they would find a way to fly his sorry ass back to NY or tell GB to deal with the problem. If we condone these kinds of disruptions for Bret I say BS, screw him and move on. Bret or anyone alse MUST NEVER become more important than the team.
if they cancelled practice for Favre, then the deal would be done. you don't cancel a practice with the possibility that he doesn't sign; that's putting 1 guy - who's not on your team - ahead of the entire team. it must have been rest.
Let's say the Jets did in fact send a vanguard of team personnel (including a player or two... Bubba Franks anyone?) to Mississippi to talk to him. Wouldn't the press immediately latch onto the absence of key players and coaches if they had actually run the practice without them? On the day before Favre's vaunted extended deadline? I think it's entirely possible. Even more possible than Mangini cancelling an entire day of TC less than a week into camp.
i don't know what to believe any more. It has become clear that Kellen Clemens is NOT living up to his potential thus far in TC, and is leaving a bad taste in Mangini's mouth...does Mangini push the panic button after 4 INT's in 4 practices by KC??...Penny obviously isn't the FO's first choice to be the starter...and Penny has made that abudantly clear to the media. There's just too much coincidence regarding these practices being cancelled. How could Tangini be "happy" about their current QB situation....anybody with an iota of intelligence can tell it sucks!!..especially when Ratliff has been showing the most potential in TC thus far..... After Clemens threw his 4th INT...I would've dialed up Favre right there. How can the FO justify the 140 million they spent in the offseason by being content with subpar QB's..... 140 million + a losing season = bye bye Mangini.....
He was guaranteed next year from Woddy himself. Its so cool to call him woddy. Thanks Black Man!!!
I think Woddy is blowing smoke up our @ss...just my opinion. Do you honestly believe Mangini would retain his job if the team went 4-12 next season, after spending that kind of dough on FA contracts? I think Woddy would fire Jesus if he was in charge.
yeah, but suppose Favre never retired in the first place or filed for reinstatement. then what? we'd be going with Clemens or Pennington anyway. they chose not to address QB in FA or the draft (selecting Ainge in the 5th or whatever shows it wasn't a priority). i think they're considering it, but i don't think they're as hellbent on getting him as this thread is.
I'm no fortune-telling gypsy....but if we go with the QB's we have TC at this moment...we'll be drafting a QB with our first round pick in 2009. The scary thing is...I hear the QB talent in the upcoming draft isn't anything to write home about.
actuallty matt stafford imo is a great pro qb prospect easily on Jamarcus Russels level when he came out of LSU. Tim Tebow is also a wildcard and could develop into an attractive option if he develops a better arm
no offense, bud....but i don't think i could go another 5 years or so with a potential starting QB that needs to develop his arm strength
i don't get it.. then again, I don't understand why I thought the jets would come back in the pouring rain down 51-3 to the Raiders 20 years ago...
