Bingo... I saw the kid play in high school at Mesa Mountain View and in college at Arizona St. He's also LDS and family is very important to him. How many times do you think his family has actually had much a chance to watch him play in the NFL? Throw in that 50% + of the homes in Phoenix are underwater he can build his dream retirement castle in the desert, plus now he can eat In and Out Burger 3 days a week. Do we really know the situation to be speculating he didn't want to play for the Jets? Maybe Rex told him he was gonna be a #2 and maybe Tanny told him the contract incentives would be based upon him staying healthy which hasn't exactly been his cup of tea. Throw in he grew up 30 minutes from University of Phoenix Stadium and it's a nice way to end his career. He's also got a very good shot to win in Phoenix as the Cards now have a real QB again and the best WR in the NFL to take the pressure off him. I also think Whisenhunt is a top 6-8 coach in the league. It's a great situation for him. Stop overreacting to everything. I personally didn't even want Heap, old, banged up and a shell of himself.
Kevin Boss over Heap for sure, but maybe too expensive? As mentioned, Heap>Hartsuck so if he's cheap, take the risk
I think Boss would be a good move, but considering all the UDFA TE's we brought in, it seems like we're focused on finding a solid backup from within the organization.
No more Heap. Todd Heap signs with the Arizona Cardinals. http://azstarnet.com/sports/footbal...cle_1806bb51-562f-521f-8357-e42b25af794b.html
