Do you know what the other variable was in 2011? Plaxico Burress. EDIT* Don't get me wrong, would love to see Tom Moore here, and he certainly would help, just saying...
If you are not on the practice field, you can't really tell that. If a guy is supposed to be on a certain spot at a certain time (drop, depth, and distance) its hard to tell whose fault it is. Go back and watch weeks 1,9 and 10. He was exceptional. Not good exceptional. But ....as the year went on who was he throwing to? Even with Schotty he improved gradually but steadily from year to year.
We are talking about game-day though. Mark I'm sure is a student of the game, and I'm sure he's excellent Monday through Saturday. When he gets on the field as of late, he's gone to become a full on retard. That ties to the CS as well as Mark Sanchez, but the fumbles at least at the very least fix that! He's had this issue for 3 seasons now. The interceptions bother me, but not as much as fumbles lost. He's got to protect the football better. I would still support Mark Sanchez if he fixed his fumble issue because the team is in shambles offensively, no way can he retain confidence with this roster on offense as well as the CS offensively.
Um, Burress did not play for the Jets in 2012... If you are referring to his lack of production on the Steelers, maybe it had something to do with him being a #1/2 target while he was a NYJ. In Pitt, he was an afterthought...
I would certainly take Moore over anybody else whose name has been thrown around but we never will know why he left here anyway, he had a cushy job that didn't require a lot of time and never came back. There may be some bad blood between him and Ryan, who knows. It wasn't like he quit altogether. He did surface somewhere else, didn't he?
Tiki also ran the football at least 250+ times a season. I agree great coaching can fix that issue, but that's gotta be on Sanchez too - some of the fumbles he's had is him trying to do far too much at once.
Point being - it's not like he was some dominant player or someone would have been using him ... at least in the redzone. I'm sure he helped, but we didn't have megatron here in 2011.
Norv Turner isn't gonna be the guy. Just hired as Bears OC. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap10...-named-cleveland-browns-offensive-coordinator
