Wish they would trade Sherwood if they plan to keep the 4-3 scheme and continue to play him at MLB.
Why does Glenn persist in continuing Douglas'/Saleh's foolish dream to play college safety Sherwood at MLB in the NFL, and college OLB McDonald at DE? Both are way too small/light for the position and they get mauled by NFL offensive lines.
Douglas is GONE, people--You don't have to continue the failed experiment. :D
Yes, I know Sherwood makes a lot of tackles, but they are mostly 5-10 yards from the line of scrimmage.

Will McDonald was not a college outside linebacker. Might project better to there in the pro’s but let’s be factually correct. He was a hand down defensive end at Iowa State.

Id say it’s probably more of an indicator that Taylor’s injury is worse than they’re letting on. Surprise surprise.

This may not be a bad thing if Brady Cook is elevated to #2 and main roster with one of the other scrubs signed to PS. We might actually see Cook play this year.

Whoa, didn't know we had fact check police on this board. Thanks!
As I recall, when the jets drafted McDonald, he was announced as a LB. Some 14 year old kid made the announcement for the jets as I recall. But I am just going by memory, so please make sure you fact check that too Mr. factually correct.
Anyway what difference does it make?
My point which I think was understood by everyone is that McDonald is WAY too small/light to play DE in the NFL and Sherwood is way too small to play MLB. Sherwood to me look more like a DB than a MLB..
But I will feel better in the future watching McDonald continue to get manhandled at the line of scrimmage now knowing his true college position. Thx for making things easier. :D

You also think it’s better to have smaller inside linebackers in a 3-4 so yeah let’s not say goofy shit all the time eh?

I don’t think McDonald is a 3-down 3-4 outside linebacker either. I think he’s merely a situational pass rusher and you can probably use him like that in either scheme.

the Jets dont even run a 4-3. They run a 4-2-5 mostly, like the rest of the league at this point

Deadline day and it seems like no one has single clue what's going on.

One person says Q isn't going anywhere, another says he's the name to watch today
JJ says he's not going anywhere, reporters say he'd be moved for a 2nd rounder
Breece is definitely on the move, actually no he's not

    My realistic preferred outcomes:

Q - convo not even entertained unless it involves a first round pick
JJ - stays (unless someone gets desperate and offers a 2)
Breece - stays (unless someone gets desperate and offers a 3)
Quincy - I think he's a goner. Niners make far too much sense. A 5th or 6th I assume. And I hate it, this is because Sherwood sucks and has a big contract
    Lazard - I'd take a 2029 7th rounder
    Clemens - I'd take a 3029 18th rounder

I'd also like to see us scour the league for the Metchie types at S, WR and DT/EDGE. Take shots on guys under contract through next year on small deals.

Hey Pittsburgh: Lazard looks SOOOO good in practice. Seriously his skills are wasted here. You could really use him

Trade John Simpson to Detroit. Dan Campbell said they need offensive line help.

Jakobi Meyers to the Jags. Makes no sense to me. Why are the Jags trading for an upcoming free agent in a year where they're going nowhere? I'm just happy its not the Pats or Steelers.

the Jags are 5-3 and could overtake the Colts if they start to stumble after a weirdly strong start

Giving up a 4 and a 6 for a FA-to-be is for teams that are one move away IMO.

I assume they've had conversations around an extension but I agree it is a bit rich (I was just responding to the comment about the Jags "going nowhere" this year as I am sure they don't see it that way).

Funny landing spot. Jags are pretty deep at WR. And that they're 5-3 blows my mind.

Quincy stays and we should trade Sherwood, or get him back to safety

We can take one of those 1st Rounders we got for Soft, and use it in a package to trade Michael Clemons to some team, any team. . . .

I wouldn't say anyone is untouchable, even GW.

The jets have had a cracked and tainted foundation for too many years. They would rebuild but keep enough stink from the last failed rebuild that the foundation couldn't get fixed. Anyone in the jets the past 5 years, and more, are too familiar with losing. I've said it a bunch, trade anyone if the price is right.

Hughes reporting that teams are offering a second rounder for Jermaine. He's probably a goner if so.
