Has anyone accounted for the salary cap hit that takes place the moment Chad is traded?

Your wrong ! Rex Grossman is the problem in Chicago(switched). Matt overrated Leinart is the problem in Arizona (Well not now-injury). Jake delholm is the problem in Carolina(Not fully healed and re-injured, keeping secret)
Sorry to rain on your parade Chad Pennington is A problem on this thrown together team. As of 4th Quarter yesterday . Yes its Chad Pennington who's the problem.

Chad's a great back-up qb. Why trade him for nothing? He should take another pay cut and sit his butt down.

Chad is not the only problem on this team. We have a defense that has more holes than the moon has craters. If we ever stop the run, it would surely mean the Messiah has arrived :)

I don't think we could get enough for him to make a trade worthwhile. We need Brad Smith as our #3 WR, so that would leave us with Tui as our only backup.. and what if Clemens doesn't work out..?

When the starting qb goes down, you want someone to go in that has some sort of competence. Half the teams in the league would be gone without their starter. With Chad in there as a backup, we'd always have some sort of insurance. He ain't great, and he may not have the best arm, but as a backup, he makes any team he's on better. Right now, he's goin' through some bad times, terrible decisions, just a couple in each game, but that's enough to screw up an entire game.

'Trade Pennington This Week'! Snort. That takes either bravado or brain damage. The title was all I needed to get me through a sleepless night and my ice-cold Pepsi at 3:15 a.m.

Yes. He's due a monster bonus this offseason. The cap is much, much healthier going forward with him off the roster.

I'll be stunned if Chad remains a Jet into next year, without a major restructure, which he's unlikely to agree to given how much he gave up the last time.

Not one team would trade even a sixth round pick for him.

The Dolphins maybe would give a 7th just to get him off our roster and because Green went down.

They could pump him for all the plays and signals we use, which they could just get from the Pats or Giants anyways..

how about we run the ball, when we were up against the giants just run the ball with jones, wear out the defense, set up play action, eat some clock. instead when they do run the ball its shitty outside runs with leon, poor coaching.

He is A problem. I agree that even with a QB that's playign better and has a stronger arm, we'd still be 1-4, but he cannot make the mistakes he has made for the last 2 weeks regardless of the position the D puts him in.

Can you tell me what would be the difference between KC & we going 3-13 or CP & we going 5-11? Does 2 more wins mean a difference when you are losing team anyway?

Nah I meant we shouldn't trade CP unless we can trick someone into giving us a decent round pick or player. He's good enough to play as a backup.. then possibly look to trade him once the season's over. Either way, we need to start Clemens.

I worry about putting Kellen behind our O-line and his confidence is destroyed like David Carr

Our line can pass block. Penny only got sacked once this week and had time to throw.
