I was forgetting we were swapping Moore lol Though his draft pick is a little irrelevant if a team is sniffing around him, we are not getting a first back for Becton or Wilson any time soon. Yes, JD is the trade king, I don't think he has lost one yet, shame he didn't deal the #2 in retrospect but hey ho. So why are you so sure he is the real deal?
I'm not sure he's the real deal but he has many of the traits top QBs have. It would be worth a try and much cheaper than using another top 10 pick on a QB. But in reality I don't see Atlanta trading him, even for more than he was worth, because they'd silly if he did pan out.
You can’t punt on an unexpected good season though. A late round lotto pick isn’t going to make or break the draft or plan. They traded a sixth for Flacco last year and they still killed the draft.
I totally agree. At 5-2, you don’t throw this season away. I’m not sure we need to go get a rb like hunt, or see if we can sure up the o line and see what we can do with what we have at rb.
Maybe we’re built to be a contender this year…. Do you really see JD as the kinda guy who’ll say “We’re not supposed to be good yet so I’ll just kick the can down to next year”? So far, sans the 1st year, the GM has been making the team better. I don’t see that changing anytime soon.
Its sad they manhandled Mims. If you saw his after game interview Sunday, he doesn't want to be here.
Any feeling that Atlanta would interest trading Kyle Pitts? He’s been severely underutilized in Atlanta and I don’t see the coach budging from it. I would offer Moore for Pitts and see what their counter would be.
I'm thinking Mims can get back that pick we gave up for Robinson. Or, maybe be part of a deal for Tunsil?
He should have been better then, I have little sympathy tbh more goes on behind the scenes than we ever see. I will say they should have traded him in the summer and let him try for a career elsewhere.
Their counter would probably be one finger, but they might stretch to two, depending on how strongly they felt.
IMO they clearly mishandled him. Mims had shown potential his rookie season in spite of not having OTAs and a full TC. Then last season he had food poisoning, lost weight, and had to put weight back on and get in shape before he could begin practicing. He missed the basics, the early stages of the installation and getting those all-important reps. Their requirement that he learn all 3 WR positions was not only unnecessary it was totally ridiculous and foolish. Here was a tall, fast WR with good hands, who is a good blocker. They surely could have found a use for him early and given him a package of plays, but they didn't. They killed his motivation. MLF and Saleh were rookies and were learning on the job. They shouldn't have been such hard asses on something so stupid. He changed his attitude and worked his ass off during the offseason, came in and worked hard in mini-camp, OTAs, and TC. He should have been able to compete for a starting spot or at least a more significant role this season, and I'd bet that he didn't get it. MLF impresses me as an insecure prick. He took offense at Mims last season, rather than realizing that he was the one who was wrong, was being unreasonable in his demand that Mims learn all 3 WR positions after missing so much practice early. Moore is now unhappy and seeking a trade. Zach is now struggling. Ruckert has struggled badly this season, and prior to the draft, he looked like he was perhaps the most NFL ready TE as he was a complete 2-way TE, not just a blocker. If it was just Mims, I'd blame Mims, but with Moore now unhappy and Zach not playing anywhere near how he is capable, the common denominator is MLF. I truly hope that MLF gets fired after this season, but I know he won't. I despise the bastard. I hope someone does hire him away. That may be what saves our offense and players like Becton, Moore, Mims, Zach, and maybe Ruckert. If Zach doesn't develop into the player I think he can be, I will forever blame MLF and Saleh for this stupid offensive scheme and the way they've forced Zach to play.
Wow. Check out this video and you will see how MLF schemed up some great plays that Zach just badly missed. https://jetsxfactor.com/2022/10/25/what-going-on-zach-wilson-ny-jets-film/
I would feel better if I saw sidexside where he once had the ability to throw with proper footwork and to not double clutch. I hate to think all these pundits who like/liked him ignored this gross inability because he threw similar to Mahomes when he scrambled.
