JD thinks 6-2 is a new norm? You just got off the phone with him? 6-2 is an opportunity no matter what even for more successful franchises than the Jets have been lately. Wasting it with poor O-LIne I feel would be a mistake, especially with a young QB who did really well when getting some protection. We lost some good OLinemen due to injury. Now, JD may think we get back Fant and Mitchell and can solidify the line, that's fine, but the line has to be solidified one way or the other to maximize potential this year.

Matr Ryan has thrown 9 interceptions in 7 games. Just what we need. That guy is done. Stick a fork in him.

I dont think any GM thinks the way you describe but I sincerely hope Douglas doesn't think that way with this particular team. Out of 7 games they've faced backup QBs in 4 of them. That is an opportunity that rarely ever comes up and could be described as "fleeting"

Now that's not to say they need to apologize for winning games but they shouldn't be taking it for granted that they'll be 5-2 or better next season. They should be going all out to see where this season takes us

Yeah my bad. God knows I’ve been wrong about the future of the Jets for quite some time. Definitely don’t have my pulse on the team. s/

    Carry on SOJF

TBH they should apologize for winning, it has obviously brought a lot of fans a lot of turmoil.

JD just traded for James Robinson, giving up what will be a 5th rounder for a possible rental. Get a clue.

Okay, so what makes you think that Douglas and Saleh think the QB position is "weak"?

the QB’s rating is 32nd in the NFL among qualifying passers. There are 32 teams in this league

And today the sky was blue and my feet hurt from walking.

Seriously, wtf are you talking about- as in what does that have to do with anything having to do with the last post.

    Edit:
*in an effort to understand wtf you’re talking about, let’s start off on the same page.
    - from my perspective, this recent confusion of wtf you’re talking to started with your quote here: right?

“Another matter to consider is that both Laremy and Duane only played LT. Not easy decision, but I think something will have to be done if we can get to 6-2, because we cannot waste such opportunity with shit for offensive line

And I replied back calling people SOJF who believe this is some kind of fluke or “opportunity”. I stated that to JD (and many others) this is the new normal.

ARE WE STILL ON THE SAME PAGE?

Then you asked some stupid rhetorical questions and double downed on your SOJF attitude.

Are you ignoring the fact JD has said, “I’m not here to win a super bowl, I’m here to win Super Bowls”?

Are you aware that I’ve said multiple times, a GMs job is to make a team better (usually when talking to people who want to trade or cut our seasoned vets)?

Follow up: If your star running back goes down for the season, ya think based on my last statement getting a RB is what I expected from him?

Lastly, it appeared to me- based on your last comment- that you are somehow comparing trading a 5th rd pick and a 1st rd pick?

PS. I apologize for this rant, you always seem nice enough and I’m pretty sure English isn’t your first language but if you ever tell me to get a clue again, bring some fucking receipts.

My bad for not using the sarcasm font, so I’ll clarify so there’s no further confusion.

No, I don’t think the Jets should apologize for winning

Yes, based on the posts on this message board I do believe it’s brought a lot of “fans” turmoil.

So you think Douglas and Saleh relay on QBR to determine if Zach is any good? SMH.

Actually he QBR is a little above average. His passer rating is 32nd.

In an attempt to bring this thread back to its original intent I offer the following points:. IMO,
1- JD is in a win now mode, never mind the thought by some we were lucky, and what back up QB was under center when we won, the team played hard and he believes we have enough talent to make a run for a playoff spot this year
2- He is also evaluating areas of short need to beef up and give this team a better chance, as shown with Robinson, and may continue with and OL, may be WR.
3- He will not derail his long term plan to accomplish that, so he will be stingy with trading premium picks unless is for a bonafide long term top starter on the offensive trenches to help that.
4- He is not remotely looking at the QB position for such an upgrade, he will swim or sink with Zach, and give him every chance and provide more help if needed
5- I’m quite convinced he is a lot more thrilled with the current progress and future of this team than some of the Jet fans are at the moment
6- He would give his left nut to over-throne BB and the Pats to get there. Starting this Sunday
7- I expect one more move if we have problems this weekend
    Go Jets

Why wouldn’t they use statistical analysis to evaluate players? And I was referring to passer rating not QBR

I was a little wary with 1 and 2 but 3 brought it all together.

Just because the plan is moving faster than possibly expected (by the fans, who know what the teams expectations were) doesn’t mean you change the plan. Consistently make the team better today without putting yourself in a hole tomorrow.

Regardless, QBR or Passer Rating, or whatever, your post implied that based upon the fact that Zach is ranked 32 out of 32 starters (I presume that's what you meant), Douglas and Saleh would be looking for a new QB. Let me put it to you this way: No way! You've been chewing on this anti-Zach Wilson bone since he was drafted, when will you finish sucking the marrow out of it? If Zach continues to perform as he has been you can expect him to be the QB for the Jets for another few years barring major injury.

Jesus! You'd think they had decided to bring back Hackenberg and make him the starter!
