Yes, especially because the next team the Lions are 151-1 to win it. I also think there are a lot of worse teams than the jets
I mean a guy who loves football, must surely understand the situation the Jets find themselves in, right? The chances are high that we may be 0-6 after our group games, a likely tough schedule out of the group on top The AFC buzzing with quality QB's, making it even more unlikely we even luck into a play off spot. It isn't as simple as saying but but but there are worse teams than the Jets. I can't believe we are having this conversation about the Jets odds of winning the superbowl, 5000-1 wouldn't be an insult for the form of the last 10 years.
The Jets are a bad team until they can win games consistently. Until they prove they're not in other words. There's no star names that fantasy players can relate too. The QB was shaky and didn't overly impress as a rookie, and to the casual observer who looks at stats and highlights his season probably seemed even worse than that. A decade of truly sucking and now they find themselves in what may be the strongest division in the NFL. If a massive massive jump forward happens (and it's possible) it is still very possible they don't make the playoffs. Are there worse teams than the Jets? Sure, I think there's a few and it's possible that they do take a big leap and are nowhere near this conversation. Is there a less likely team to win the Superbowl? Probably not in truth.
The Jags just hired a SB winning coach while the Jets continue to hire the flavor of the month coordinator and it never works out for them. The lions lost more close games than any NFL team last year, they were competitive and only lost 5 games by big margins. The Giants hired a proven OC as their next HC, the belief is that he will be able to turn it around quickly based on his work with a talented team. Say what you want about Dabol but when he has a quality RB he gets a lot of production from his offense. If Barkley stays healthy he’s going to have a big year under Dabol. The Giants will solidify the oline in this draft and turn it around quicker than the Jets. Texans are as bad as Jets, not sure if the Lovie Smith hire is going to pan out but if Mills takes a step forward then they will have an edge on Jets. Jets still don’t know if Wilson is the answer at QB, for all the moves Joe has made with this team, no one knows if team is headed in right direction, this year will determine a lot.
Guess you have to look at your division first. What’s your chances of winning the Division and getting through the teams. Odds doesn’t really say the Jets is the worst team in NFL. Compare to other divisions, they have a very long shot to overcome Bills a heavy favorite and two other teams that are or were in the playoff hunt. Dolphins got better. NE just got better with Parker. Take Lions and Texans, only 2 teams from each division were in the playoff hunt. If The Jets were in AFC South, man that would be amazing to get a shot to move up the standings.
When you listen to Joe Douglas and Robert Saleh talk, it does not sound like the Super Bowl is even a thought in their minds right now. They just want to build this team and watch it continue to improve. Then factor in a tough AFC East, really tough AFC in general, and then having to win the Super Bowl if you somehow get there, I think those odds are pretty fair. Those 3 other teams you listed have easier roads to a Super Bowl title. Doesn't mean Vegas thinks they are better teams. The Jets are going to surprise people in 2022. I don't think they will win the Super Bowl, but they will make a playoff push and possibly make it in. That would be a huge accomplishment and very exciting for Jets fans!
The Jets put together a few first downs and play a solid qtr of football are my goals right now Wilson putting together some TDs and Winning a game sounds like a Trophy to me
Anyone thinking in terms of a SB right now for the Jets is a glutton for punishment. Unrealistic expectations lead to disappointment and/or rash decisions that at best work a little bit in the short term but fail terribly in the long term. Stay the course. The wins will come.
We can't be any worse than plumb last my friend, Tua or Herbert we will still be last again. 6th pick, for some reason I thought he has went 10th. Yes a huge mistake by the fish, shame, second last for them, maybe.
It is quite possible the Jets improve to being an average team next year improving their out of division record from 4-7 to 5-6 or 6-5 but still go 0-6 in the division.
we are in a good division, a stacked conference, and have the 2nd hardest schedule in the NFL. you have to make the playoffs to win a SB and our chances are very poor. they probably feel Hou and jax have better shots to win their weak division and have easier schedules.
How is is we get the second hardest schedule lol… I’m worried we are going to be calling for Saleh’s head next year.
