The OP is a joke right? I don't think that any real Jet fan could agree with that assessment. The team has made some very solid moves and set themselves up to fill some remaining holes and add depth in the draft. I'm excited for September. :jets:
Holy shit, people are STILL actually trying to reason with this doucheclown? The OP was "very depressed" a couple of weeks ago, and is now "very disappointed". I've heard of the "Angry Troll", the "Random Fight-Starting Troll", and the "Make Shit Up Troll", and now I can add to that list the "Whiny, Depressed, Unoriginal, Nearly-Illiterate Troll".
Attacking D's Are Much More Attractive To Me... Mangini's defense was a "read and react" defense, whereas Ryan will apparently run a pin-your-ears-back attacking defense. I actually prefer it when your defense seeks to dictate to their offense what they can and can't do (especially the "can't" part). I believe that an attacking defense leaves less room for doubt and confusion on the part of the defensive players. This gives them more confidence, improving their violence and resolve, in my opinion. Mangini's cerebral defenses were often fun, but even the best players were frequently tempted to stop and think -- much to their detriment. I think Mangini was frequently surprised at the sudden vulnerabilities that showed up in his defensive schemes on the field. I know that's the way Bellichick designs the stuff, but you do have to hand it to Rex Ryan's defense -- it is usually devastating. You had to love the way they took apart the Dolphins this year in the playoffs like a cheap trick, piece by piece. They just told Pennington, "You go ahead, Chad, try and fool us, while we beat your ass." and ultimately he had no answer for their relentless aggression. Ed Reed got a lot of glory for what was a planned coordinated attacking technique of the defensive secondary. It could be the secret weapon of Ed Reed is really the other DBs and how they play so he can attack where he thinks the QB will throw. This year's going to be fun on defense for me, I think.
I'll wait until the season progesses before i hit the panic button. I believe in this team and the coaching staffs ability to asess the talent and upgrade accordingly. The draft is not here yet. I expect things will happen on draft day to upgrade our positions of need.
wait, what? this is more or less incoherent and awful...but regardless, can you please tell me you're kidding with "misteak". i'm considering banning you from attempting english anymore.
To the OP , ever heard that old saying , " Rome wasn't built in a day "? Well apply that here. I'm actually quite glad that we have been patient , and haven't just gone crazy with the cheque book. I'm intrigued with the upcoming draft and what the D C/S can get out of Gholston. Patience
misteak... Hold on a second...you're that damn old and you don't know how to spell mistake? ...fucking wow man. ...just saw this post now. Can someone get banned for being this stupid?
we added to our shitty secondary, put some depth into our defensive line, we got bart scott next to david harris, hopefully Pace plays well, he wasent too bad last season, and maybe gholston will come into his own, and Thomas can be amazing. On offense Cotchery can catch, not too fast but he can catch, Keller is nasty, LW can catch and run the ball, Clowney can catch, we dont know how well he will perform overall, stuckey made good grabs last season, and ok he isnt totally proven yet either but we have alot more upside, the only thing you can be worried about is ratliff and clemens being complete garbage, which is about a 50/50 chance and our Oline not improving on run blocking or pass protection and thats only because Faneca wasent great and he's getting older and same for woody. We WILL at least win ten games this coming season. :jets::jets::jets::jets:
We came in third in our division last year. I suspect that like us, NE, MIami and Buffalo are doing things to improve as we are. We may well have a crappy year this year based on schedule and it also looks like we will be developing a QB finally. The D last year basically sucked and should be improved, how much is anyone's guess? I'm hopeful we have a solid rebuild plan in place and stick to it. I suspect we may well play decent football this year and finish with a lossing record.
Its hard to judge how hard the schedule will be because teams go up and down every year, we have an easier schedule then NE or MIA, especially MIA, they got to play PITT and SD as we got to play OAK and CIN. The NFC south will suck ass for us though. then we got Indy which isnt the beast they were, they are beatable, Jacksonville is up and down, Tennesse could suck again, and Houston, well Fuck Houston, our division will be tough and the NFC south, we can get through it. :jets::jets::jets::jets::jets:
we went 9-7 last year with a turnover machine for a quarterback, holes in our defense and horrible play calling. lets be real we got a great defensive minded coach, beefed up alot of weaknesses on D and added depth, and are going to play to our strengths on offense..which is our O-line and running game. you pretty much have a replication of baltimore, except with more weapons on offense and a slightly less talented defense (but not by as much as you think). Cotchery and Keller are WAY better than any receiver that's been on the ravens in the past 9 years, minus heap who is a much different TE than Keller. Add in leon washington which was something baltimore never had, and you have a team that can grind out wins. i think if we get a receiver in the draft (i think harvin would make an excellent #2 and a playmaker), that cna take some pressure off cotch, we're going to be in good shape. I like stuckey as a #3 receiver i mean, really..how often do you see a good defense and great running game do poorly? it's a classic formula for winning, although not the most flashy. The other thing people forget about is that because both our QB's have decent arms, it opens up the deep ball. HOw many times did you see Flacco air it out on a play action after they just pounded the ball? I can recall mark clayton making a ton of 40+ yard catches...i'd like to see the stats on that, but i know he caught alot of them.Alot of flacco statlines were like 5-11, 120 yards, 1 Rushing TD. That's one thing i think baltimore lacked before flacco, a fairly accurate quarterback who has a cannon
I an really looking forward to next season - how the hell can you write a team off before the draft even starts?
