The guy makes the pro bowl in his 2nd year, wins defensive rookie of the year in 2004, and you can honestly sit there and say he has underachieved? He's played 6 games in the 3-4 defense...a defense has NEVER played in before. Now he's being asked to not only be a leader on that defense, not only make all the calls on defense, but first he has to learn the defense! I mean geez, learn patience and perspective...please.
Whoever said that we've been in the bottom five the last 3 years in rush defense needs to wake up. 2004 we were 5th best in the NFL in rush defense, and it was one of the biggest reasons we were a field goal away from the AFC Championship game. Then these last 2 years we've been horrible. What's the difference? Nose tackle, Ferguson had a very good year in 2004 and we haven't replaced that.
Good point...But putting him at OLB might be better. At safety, he couldn't defend pass plays far down field.
For everyone saying he doesnt make stops at the line....in this past week's game he stopped Ronnie Brown on 4th and 1. Anyone remember that?
He didnot make the pro bowl he was NOT elected. He was chosen as a replacement for Zach after Zach opted out from the game due to injury
