You take things WAAAAY too personally, man. If The Jets offered him a backup QB job, then he'd be here and not in Chowdahead country. But the Jets obviously don't want him here so the man has got to do what he's got to do in order to at least get a chance to play football again. I have no issues with him being on the Patriots. Just as long as the Patriots lose and don't win a superbowl with him on it, he can "play" as long as he wants...
I have to say, I find the whole "Vinny as a true Jet" thing very mysterious. This is not Namath ending his career with the Rams, Maynard with the Cards, or Philbin with the Eagles, folks. Vinny's 1854 passes as a Jet constitute a little more than 1/4 of his career total, as do his 77 passing TDs. He had one great season and two mediocre ones as the Jets QB. I didn't care when he signed with the Cowboys, and couldn't care less if he stays with the Pats, beyond thinking that they're probably screwed if they actually need to put him behind center in an important situation.
This would be the perfect time to go read what those housebound loons at the Vinny Testaverde site would be saying. Except, of course, that their site was hacked my some teenage kid from Turkey, and they can't figure out how to get the zaniness going again.
I actually use to post there but it's been a ghost-town ever since the Pats season ended...and even then, the regulars became irregular...
"If you hang around long enough, you come back in style. Some of the clothes I have in my closet can attest to that." - Vinny Testaverde (10/13/05) Can't help but chuckle at that remark....you'd have to wonder if he's got clothes dating back to Woodstock. :rofl2:
I loved that site, but they banned me for posting things that weren't glowing enough about Vinny. The mods there have deleted some of the very best stuff, but when I want to read about Vinny's future run for Senate, or why people should be outraged that Vinny was sitting on the bench behind any other quarterback, it's still a pleasant place to visit. And then, of course, there's that song. That absolutely intoxicating song. Vinny Testaverde, yeah. Vinny Testaverde, yeah. He's the beeeeeeeest quarterback in the American football conference eastern division He throw's every pass he throws on a frozen rooooooooope He's. . . . Vinny Testaverde, yeah. Vinny Testaverde, yeah. . . . .
vinny t.. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/trainingcamp07/news/story?id=2980587 signing with the patriots again.. not sure if this was already posted
Wow, who knew that a 40+ YO QB could be this big of a deal. If signing Vinny is that bad, just think what would happen if the pats ever get a starter away from us. It would be chaos. I wonder if fans from Tampa, Cleveland or Baltimore were this mad when he came here.:breakdance:
