How is Fitzpatrick worth $60 million?

Bills are playing bad and now being bit by the injury bug too. The Jets next 3 games have to be the softest in the NFL. (4 if you count Denver  ) Can the Jets take advantage though?

If we can't beat Denver with Tebow at the helm, no game is a gimme.

I hope the Jets do, but I have no confidence that they will/can. It is clearly not the same team as the past few years.

The Bills refused for years to spend a high draft pick on a QB. The reason why they gave $60 million to a career backup? That money's not guaranteed.

The only upside of not having the Jets in the playoffs is not seeing the Jets running their mouths on TV before the playoff games. Otherwise whoever the Pats play isn't likely to be significantly harder or easier to beat than the Jets.

    So no big whoop.

That's spread out over 6 years and only 24 million would be guarentee if he played through 2013. It only makes him the 16th highest paid QB in the league when you compare other salaries. Problem is I don't have him in the top 20 for best starters in the league right now. But not all the blame is on him, since week 2 when Parrish went down we have had no talent at the WR position besides Stevie. Nearly every team in the league has atleast 2 respectable receiving threats that are not RB'S. We only have 1 (Stevie) and he has been fighting the injury bug the past month.

$60 million after a nice start -- if they waited 3 weeks could have signed him for a lot less. Fred Jackson had been taken out of games not by defenses but by the other teams offense. Jets need to play like they did in Buffalo - tough D, stop the run, be physical, but on Offense they need to score early and often. Don't go into the 4th up 4 and hope that is good enough so you play milk the clock only to lose in the last minute.
