The coaching staff probably won't get much respect in this win. But thats expected, and personally I feel like its part of what drives this team. Dustin Keller is going to come out the winner of this game. This guy is going to be a fucking stud.
Fuck that the "Great" patriots never led the game at home in a huge game , We did choke it up but we got it together again and drove it down for the Win.
By self-flagellation, I mean ritually abusing oneself and perhaps even getting a thrill out of something possibly not going well someplace. Needing, craving to have something to kvetch about.
See, that's what I mean, even I'm guilty of it myself. I completely forgot about the Giants because I'm biased for the Jets. And I am even trying to be objective.
Jets are a top 5 team with this win. Now we'll just have to find out if a Top 5 team can win with a Bottom 1 coaching staff.
Haha seriously. This game should have been over in the first half, but then the coaches can't get a play in, and the play they do get in is conservative. We give the ball back and let them score. Then, at the end of the half, again, with a chance to put the game away up by a TD, the CS decides to again be conservative and fail. They then proceed to play the prevent-a-win defense, and manage to blow it. Then, finally, in the OT, maybe Favre yelled at them or something, but he is allowed to win the game for us. And he does it, although the CS again decided to risk it on a FG instead of getting the TD, when Favre was going right down the field. The FG should be what you settle for, not what you're playing for. If this CS was coaching the Titans, the Titans would probably be a 5-4 team. They'd definitely have lost last week, where Fischer just went with Collins through the air all game long.
You pretty much just summed up the Titans season... They have been in close games all year and keep barely squeaking out wins. Are you really going to say that they are not a top team? Who cares how you win. In my opinion the great teams are the ones that win the close ones. Every team has the close games, the ones that separate from the pack are the ones that win the ugly ones, not lose them...
I personally believe that the 2008 NYJs grew up a little more tonight. If Mangini stays true to himself, they won't be able to forget it. I think we have a real chance next week, believe it or not. Haynesworth and Wilford are two of a kind, but I think that Wilford is actually in better shape than Haynesworth. I'm looking forward to that game now. We've got a heavyweight on our hands, and it's fun times again.
I don't know about that. They beat the Bengals 24-7. We beat them 26-14. They beat the Chiefs 34-10. We beat them 28-24. They've had close wins, but their close wins have been against very good teams. They've also beaten everyone they've play against. Meanwhile we have losses to the Raiders and Chargers, two very weak teams. I dunno man, like I said before, we are biased. Even with a win over the Titans, as another poster reminded me when I said the same thing, what about the Giants? Maybe we're still top 5, but #1 will be hard to pull off, and the sports media is going to be hesitant to put us in the top 5 (even if they put Buffalo in earlier this season). There are some funny articles the media wrote a few weeks ago. There was one really stupid one about how the Bills "got it" and built teams the right way, and we didn't so we'd always suck. I wish I had bookmarked that, so I could e-mail the writer and laugh at him, and so the rest of us could laugh too.
You cant compare the scores of our games against certain teams and their scores. Its completely different game planning.
Where the heck to you guys come up with such stupid fuckin ideas??? We beat the Pats in THEIR home!!! We scored when we needed to...end of story!
If we go out and beat an undefeated team in the Titans next week will anyone be satisfied then? I'll take a win any way I can get em, especially against the Pats. Good job Jets. Keep it up!!!!!!
Wins like this build character. We have been in quite a few close ones this year already. Like the 2007 Pats, they blew everyone out and didn't deal with adversity well in the Super Bowl. When you win like we just did, you are used to being in the fire and learn to stay cool. It is heart wrenching to watch, but I'll take 'em.
I agree Tony, a great win for this franchise, top 5 win since I've been watching, the old Jets would have lost this game for sure, who cares about respect, we are in 1st place!:jets:
This is one of the best wins I have ever seen. I love it even more than a blowout, because they showed poise and calm, and took care of business. This game was NOT too big forthem, where it would have been for the Jets of old. 1st place!!!!
