People keep forgetting how well Robertson played in 2004 when he had John Abraham and Jason Ferguson deflecting pressure from him. He has the Alexei Yashin syndrome: like Yashin will never live up to his contract, Dewayne's never going to live up to being picked 4th overall in the draft. He's just not that good of a player. That should not be confused, however, with not being a good player.

I don't really understand why some players get a pass on this site for having bad years last season but others don't. It was OK for Ellis or Coleman to suck but not OK for Robertson or McCairns for some reason.

As long as Dewayne keeps playing like a bowling ball with knives he has a place on this team.

Exactly. I think that he could do a lot better if we draft someone along the lines of Mario/Hawk at 4 or Lawson/Carpenter at 29 to take some of the pressure away from him. I also think he could flourish in the 3-4 with the way he plays. However, he'll never be the foundation for the defense; he needs the foundation to be there to do stuff on top of.

Just because Kimo is a solid 3-4 DE does not mean he can 'hold the fort' as a 3-4 NT, the positions are not interchangeable. What a ridiculous thing to say.

i still have faith in drob.. we invested so much in the guy it kills me to admit he is a bust.. i would say give me one or two more years to prove himself... i think the upside to him that he has the potential to be a probowl dt and maby this new defense will allow him to become that probowl dt..

IMHO his trade value is zero no wait below zero due to his degenerate knee condition

If anything, DRob will IMPROVE in a 3-4. Hes powerful and compact, and once he gets some leverage under your pads, hes like a mountain, impossible to move. Also, one of his greatest weaknesses previously was that he appeared to get lost in blocking shemes. Hopefully with this transition, his responsibilities are simplified, and he can thus excel in that area

No way we trade him. First, he's damaged goods which means you get below market value for him. 2nd, he's young and 2 years ago he lived up to being the 4th pick, meaning he has the potential. 3rd, EVERYONE sucked last year with the exception of a few guys. The whole season was a wash, and we can't judge keeping or releasing a player with that much potential b/c of one season.

He has too much potential to trade, lets give him one more season in the new scheme.

exactly. Remember Champ's first year in Denver, he got toasted left and right. And of course there were people who were saying he was overrated all of a sudden, but then, the next year he was back to the same old Champ.

Why cannot U people not get it that he has a degenerate knee condition that worsens EVERY day of his life so if you have any common sense you can say wow that means EVERY day he is weaker player then the day before due to the aboveforementioned knee condition. Bway& Herm really did not do there homework on him before drafting him.

Robertson is not a 'proper' DT imo. Just wondering, did he play at another position ever? Because he is not big enough and doesnt have the presence to be a winner. He isnt quick enough off the mark
