#1 - RAVENS week 1. First game of the season, Monday night, new stadium, astronomical hype, Rex's old team.. easily the most anticipated I think. Two preseason AFC favorites to reach the big one. #2 - DOLPHINS week 3. Sunday night game against our biggest rivals. Got swept last year, and both teams made some big moves in the offseason. This should be one hell of a game. #3 - PATRIOTS week 2. First division game against the beasts of the AFC east for the past decade. Patriots aren't looking as dominant as they once were, making this a crucial game to win at home. Starting out 1-0 in the division against a team that many feel is the division favorite til Brady and Belichick get divorced will be a massive plus. #4 - MINNESOTA week 5. Another primetime Monday night game, sure to be the blockbuster game of the week, if not the entire season. Minnesota's high powered offense featuring our 1-year leased legend in Brett Favre against Rex Ryan's menacing defense. Huge starpower under the lights at the NMS. #5 - STEELERS week 15. Away game at Heinz field, a place where the Jets haven't had the best of luck. The steelers have been plagued with issues the past year, with Polamalu being out, Roethlisberger busy raping, and Holmes swapping the black and gold for the green and white. Playoff implications definitely in store here.
HA HA. I was a jerk when people were blasting me just for being a Dolphin fan. I know you guys hate my beloved Dolphins, and rest assured, I hate your team with a passion as well, but we are all humans. I just started ignoring the ignorant ones, made my points, and the intelligent ones surfaced and had intelligent convos with me, such as yourself. As fars as you guys beating us 17 out of the last 22 times...... I'm not going to be one of those crazy Fin fans and argue back and fourth about that, but we have three in a row against you guys, and you gotta start somewhere. lol
Good call on being human. onto the games I understand that, and a win is a win. I could bitch, and dissect each of those 3 games with excuses.. But some Dolphins fans act like the Jets havent done anything to the Dolphins in 20years.
F Miami. Those two games are always huge no matter what else happens in the year. And until the Jets have the Pats in their rearview mirror, those two will also be huge. Add the Vikes game - monday night, big NFC powerhouse, Favre. Huge. The Pitt and Ravens game are just under, and if you want to ignore me putting so much emphasis on division rivals, I have no problem with that. Year in year out, though, division games remain hugely important. Sorry Buffalo.
I agree with you man, but just realize that every fanbase has there homers. Dolphins, Jets, Pats, Lions etc. etc. There are always, and will always be the stupid ones. I am a die hard Dolphin fan, but I also recognize that you guys have done a lot of winning against us. Miami had the years where we were always a tough team, i.e. the Marino days. Now you guys are on your way to the top of the division, but you have one problem. The Dolphins are getting strong again. Looks like it's going to be a battle to the death between our two teams for the next several years in the division. I honestly think our teams will finish 1 and 2 in the division, with NE finishing 3rd. People think I'm crazy when I say that, but there are a LOT of question marks in Patsie land right now.
1) Week 1 Ravens @ Jets: Rex's old team 2) Week 5 Vikings @ Jets: Brett Favre 3) Week 3 Jets @ Dolphins: Jets vs Dolphins 4) Week 15 Jets @ Steelers: I know a lot of Steeler fans 5) Week 8 Packers @ Jets: Super Bowl pick
Week 1, vs Ravens. Not only do we get to open our new stadium but is the game that some experts pick as the AFC Championship game. Week 2, vs Pats. I just want to destroy them and enjoy the same explosive atmosphere as last years game. Week 5, vs Vikings. Want to put a hurting on Favre and watch our secondary rip apart their supposed "elite" receiving crew. Week 14, Phins at home. After last years home loss and sitting there in disbelief more then a few times, I'm looking forward to a ass kicking here. Week 15, vs Steelers. It's my hope that newly acquired homo rapes Ben 10 yards deep numerous times during this bludgeoning. Honorable mention to week 16 and 17, hopefully we will be resting our starters and watching the league cry as some other team "backs in" to the playoffs. Also the Thanksgiving game, should be a fun filled day.
I'm going to go big time. 5 - Favres - I want to see him lying on his back as Revis runs by him to the endzone with the ball. 4 - Ravens - The Sexy Rexy game, not to mention bragging rights for a while around the office. 3 - Patsies - It is time to take the division. 2 - Fish - It is not a successful season until we stomp the fish. 1 - Colts - It is time to take the conference.
Vikings(pwn favre) Fins 1st game pats 1st game Ravens (bc it's the first game of the year) Broncos bc we need to win a game out west
Without really checkin the schedule... 1. Green Bay - my local team against my favorite team, I'll be the lone Jets fan this week 2. Denver - my team vs my best friend's team, always a fun time for us 3. NE - fuck em 4. Miami - fuck em 5. Baltimore - good test
Baltimore - Rex returns to his old team. Green Bay - Woodson shows why is isn't the DPOY, gives up 2 TDs... gets one Pass Deflection. Miami - They get the sweep the year the Jets rookie QB takes them to the AFC Chip game as their 2nd year QB in his 1st season of action collapses in December. They still gloat as if they are better. Time for a good reality check. Pittsburgh - The Jets don't have a great record against the Steelers. Let's see what this Jets team can do. Big Ben will be back from suspension. This should be a hell of a game. New England - Typical division game.
1. NY Giants - It's the next game and I'm desperate for some football. 2. Redskins - Preseason week 3 is usually when we get a bit of a look at what to expect early in the year. 3. Baltimore - Season opener, nothing more exciting 4. Pats I - first divisional game, big opportunity to make a statement. 5. Dolphins I - chance to shut some irritating people up early in the year. Hopefully moves us to 3-0 and them to 0-3. I love every game though, get pumped up for all of them. Except preseason week 4.
All I have to say is remember the PO game vs the Colts when Peyton dices & sliced us. We have made zero improvements to neutralize that problem & that is like zero. Dumping Douglas & replace him with De Vito is at best a lateral move. Somewhere down the line we will run into the Colts again & the result will be exactly the same since we cannot pressure the QB The Minny game I was referring is what game 4 or 5 not game 1 as was the Houston game last year?
There's been some rumor that Marques Douglas could be signed when the FA restriction is finally lifted so we'll add DL depth. You can't say we've made zero improvements because Garcon was beasting Drew Coleman (#4 DB) the entire 2nd half on slants, so we went out and got better DBs. We've also added a pass rush specialist to the mix and, as long as he can stay healthy, Big Jenks will play a huge role in a Jets/Colts AFCCG re-match. I also wasn't aware you were referring to any particular games in your original post. It just looked to me like u were complaining how we're gonna suck in general. And what about the Minny game? I think it's going to be a great game and the Stadium will be rocking for that one. I'm def looking forward to it.
OMG. Signing Cromartie is zero improvement? #2 CB was what the Colts went after. How could you have left that out?
