Oh, wrong again Mr. Blue Font. Thomas Jones is KNOWN for his cutback running. Cutback running is exceptionally difficult when there is contact BEHIND the line of scrimmage. All those negative yardage running plays last year? It wasn't like TJ gained 2 yards and then turned around and ran back 4 yards, ala Reggie Bush. You could have LT or Barry Sanders rushing the ball, but if there's contact behind the line, they ain't goin nowhere.
Nan, Thomas JOnes is know for being a down hill running. He needs to line up deep to get his speed up. If you make a hole he can slam up in it.
Figured I'd bump an old thread. I remember this draft a lot of people wanted McFadden with our pick 6 but Raiders grabbed him 2 spots ahead of us with number 4. I hear now that Oakland is looking at any pick days 1-3 for him. Would you as a fan still want him? Say trade our draft fuck up for their draft fuck up straight up?
Where did you hear that the Raiders would take "any pick" for him? I haven't heard him mentioned in trade rumors at all. I'd trade Gholston for him in a heartbeat and find a suitor for Leon.
http://bleacherreport.com/articles/382582-raiders-raiders-actively-shopping-rb-darren-mcfadden During an appearance on Thursday morning on ESPN Radio's "Mike & Mike in the Morning," ESPN Senior NFL Insider Chris Mortensen dropped a bomb on the proceedings as we storm full throttle towards the draft on Thursday night: Oakland Raiders RB Darren McFadden is amongst the players that could be available in trade over the next few days. McFadden hasn't lived up to the hype in Oakland after a remarkable college career. The No. 4 overall pick in 2008, McFadden has already missed seven games due to injury in his first two seasons and averaged just 3.9 yards a carry.
Well, here it is on Rotoworld so it's slightly less bullshit. http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playerpages/player_main.aspx?sport=NFL&id=4649
Of course i would trade gholston for him....no brainer we could at least get something out of mcfadden
I'll give them Gholston for him. Shit, Al Davis loves straight line speed, and Leon can only run in a straight line, we might as well throw Leon in there for a 3rd round pick(Gerhart).
I love seeing these old threads. A month and a half before the draft, I already eliminated Gholston and McFadden from my board. Later on I focused in on McElvin as our best choice. If we took him. or DRC we would still have our Lito and Cromartie picks. One bad first rounder can really screw you up.
I'd love to get McFadden for cheap if Leon's gone. Too bad he always seems to get banged up. He was a terror as a Razorback.
Looks like the Lions might make a move for him. http://www.mlive.com/lions/index.ssf/2010/04/if_darren_mcfaddens_available.html
