Not at all, if we went 2-14 I still don't think he should be fired. I believe you give a coach at least 3 years and then take it from there.

Now tell me which one of those teams the Jets have more talent then? Plus some of that can be miss leading like San Diego playing Oakland twice and the Bears playing the Lions twice. That would make that drop a lot.

What if we rock next season? We won 10 games and got the #5 playoff seed with a new defensive style, and a whole new coaching staff. This was supposed to be a 6 win season at best...
I think you know what he means.... I also am a long time, suffering Jets fan and I know what he means... After watching such a great season it is almost impossible to imagine a bad year under this coach with virtually the same personnel.
We also played the Lions and the Raiders. So I guess that dropped our strength of schedule alot too. You made the point that our schedule is very weak and we will have trouble next year. I am just making the point that we didn't have the easiest schedule and you can only play who you play. No one is going to knock San Diego or the Bears for playing bad teams.
Omigodomigod!!! A real thinking-man's thread. I don't know what I'd do if the Jets sucked next year. It would be so...new. So different. It's not like I've had any preparation for this scenario being a Jets fan. A thread that would have made us all think here is, "What if we won it all next year?" That's something most of us here have never known, so it would really cause imagination overload on the board. I believe 3PO summed it up for us in the Summer of '77: "We seem to be made to suffer...its our lot in life."
The title of your thread is "Will we suck next year?" and your post is: "We only beat 1 team with a winning record so if we went 5-11 next season with a tough schedule does that mean Eric was a 1 year fluke and benefited from the weak schedule?" Just an assumption. Why even make a thread like this if you don't think we will be bad next year.
