Tennessee DID let go of McCareins simply because they could only afford to sign one: Bennett or McCareins and they thought McCareins would yield more in a trade (they were right). That's a fact, and there is no reason to admit I was wrong thinking that. Tennessee did not have TOO MANY WRs, they just didn't have the cap space for both of them.

I think McCareins is being made an example out of by the coaching staff, and I don't know if it's 100% fair to him, but that's too bad for him at the same time.

DUE TO TOO MANY WRs....geez man

If he seriously has lost his starting job then good. He is not a deep threat in my opinion, and does not have breakaway speed, but when he is on he can be a good 3rd down possession guy. However, if he keeps dropping balls like he did last season, he won't be the number 3 either.

That maybe your contention however nobody releases a WR with his PC average at that time unless there are other issues involved like taking plays off, dropping passes, not blocking D/field so on & so forth. With his PC average he really should have been a starter but Herm was so impressed with him when on that MNF game he blew past Herm for a TD is the reason he went out & traded for him

I disagree. I still think McCareins is a good player. I don't think he's great, never did, but I think he can be a good #2.

I thought he would be a decent 2 after he started playing well down the stretch in 04. Reality he has never been a solid No. 2 in what is now going on year 6 of his career. This guy is a solid #4.

A naysayer is defined as someone with 'an aggressively negative attitude'. This side of the Pond or the other, a naysayer is someone who is critical, not supportive.

What's with the "Nobody Releases" BS....

Maybe not, but, when you can get a 2nd or 3rd round pick for one of your WR"s and you feel you have 2 to sign at equal value then you trade 1.

Champ are you older than 15?

Just because you say something is a fact doesn't make it so. I believe the reason Reese/Fisher let McCareins go was because they thought Bennett was the better player; his stats the last two years show they were probably correct. IMO, it had nothing to do with who had a better trade value that would be a foolish thing for a GM to do.

By the way, someone asked who the Titans drafted with the pick we gave up for Justin. The answer is DE Travis Laboy who had 6.5 sacks last year. Immediately after him the Cowboys drafted Julius Jones....

I'm not the one saying it... Tennessee said it. They offered both guys a deal and Bennett took it. It was the opinion of most that Tennessee was so cap strapped this is what they did. This is not my opinion alone.

If you can only sign 1 guy, and you think both guys are close to equal, how is it foolish to sign the one with less preceived "trade" value?

So U think I am kid. I do not even wnat to post what I think of U. However I won teenage wizard of the year award (just kidding) . Read this.

Well if I liked U some years back & U were on the board at that time & had given me some respect I would have given U a penny stock that went to over $6.00. Do a historical on a HLSH from 01/03 till now & U will see it went from very small pennies to large dollars. I call it hitting mini lotto since when it was very small pennies I bought many, many, many thousands of shares. In case you cannot do the math if you bought 50,000 shares U invested like 5Gs then you sold it say for $5.00 per share your net would have been 250Gs not bad huh? Now going further if U bought 100,000 shares your investment was 10Gs & your return @ $5.00 per share is a sweet 500Gs. How about that for hitting lotto?
