Where does Pennington rank amongst Jets QBs all time?

    I thought they had very legitimate shots in '02 and especially '04 (thanks Doug Brien). I would rank Chad 3 or 4 on the Jets all time list. Not many other QBs can say they led the Jets to the playoffs 3 times in 6 seasons as a starter.

    Pennington gave us hope for a while. When he took over for Vinny in 2002, he really energized the team. He was always a model employee for the Jets, and a great face for the franchise. Too bad about the injuries, but that really isn't his fault.

    As for where he ranks? Certainly below Namath and Todd, and maybe below an early years O'Brien.

    It is truly sad how bad our QBs have been, I can only think that the Lions and Bears have had a worse QB history than us.

    Actually the Lions had Bobby Layne in the fifties, one of the all time greats.

    And we had Namath and the Lions have been waiting for a great QB longer than we have.
