go get ASO. no brainer. obviously if it's 19 million or something crazy it's a no go. if it's a reasonable contract similar to revis' i would go for it. they make each other better. no one, and I mean no one throws at Aso. if they want to to continue to do that, say hello to the 2010 revis of 40 PD's and and 8 INT's(including playoffs). if they throw at aso, he'll get some stats too. it just makes the defense so much better. if you're an opposing QB there's 2 receivers you're afraid to throw the ball to. it creates tons of confusion for the QB. the difference between aso and cromartie is huge.
Gotta admit if Aso would come here that would be hella interesting to watch. Unless were playing teams that are running 5 wide every damn play I cant see us giving up over 200 passing yards more than maybe once the entire season. Then again paying a guy 10 million to completely erase a teams #2 receiver does sound really dumb. Esp since it does nothing to address our weakness against tight ends in the passing game.
No. Mike Nolan and Mike Singletary both ran 3-4 defenses. And how can you type both of those sentences back-to-back? Landry would be the best fit on this team out of all the FAs listed by the OP. That's who the Jets should be looking at once we figure out what is happening with our departing FAs.
Dawan Landry's arguably had a better career than his brother. They've at least been on par with each other. Plus, unlike LaRon, DL knows this scheme because he's played for Rex Ryan before.
I agree there would be a level of familiarity with Dawan, that would help speed things along so he would be a good fit. Talent wise I have to give the nod to LaRon, I mean yeah they have had similar achievements stats wise. Yet when you watch them both play LaRon plays like the ghost of Sean Taylor is with him while Dawan plays well but just not with the same ferocity. Not to mention Dawan has played for a team thats had a top ranked defence for over decade and Washington's has been sub-par the whole time LaRons been there.
No, he really doesn't. Obviously the Redskins' defense isn't as good as Baltimore's, but that defense was pretty good until 2010. When it came to yards allowed, WSH was a top five defense in 2008 and a top ten defense in 2009 and 2007.
I would rather have Dawan also. Like Mr E. said, Dawan is familiar with Rex, and obviously more familiar with the AFC teams also. Yeah Dawan had more talent around him, and LaRon didn't. Dawan is arguably better right now, and I would take the sure thing.
If we lose Braylon or Holmes - @ WR we go with Steve Smith (Car) If we lose Cro - @ CB we go Carlos Rodgers If the above two moves take place we should be in good position with some extra cap room, now we can adress other issues like our main concern pass rush. LB Matt Roth DE Mathias Kiwanuka maybe DT Pat Williams (depending on cost) LB Tamba Hali (yeah I know I'm reaching with this one but since we're being hypothetical)
If we lose Cro, you go out, and get a Carlos Rodgers, and another CB. One of the FA CB's the Ravens may lose. Remember Coleman is a FA, and he is awful. He is good for letting somebody complete a pass, and then forcing a fumble though.
hes fast as hell. but i laugh whenever i see him get a sack, because i think nobody can see the midget behind a DE, or LB
I think Coleman has found his niche in Rex's defense. They're playing to his strengths (speed/blitzing) and not relying on him too much in Pass coverage....
