We are going to over look the Dolphins or Bills if they are our home opener.. The Jets know what time it is when Patriot week rolls around... Lets smack Brady around Week 2.
We really should be drawing the Pats Week 17....we have yet to ever since the NFL has stressed upon divisional matchups on the final week. Miami vs Buffalo New England vs NY Jets Those have never happened in Week 17 of the past few years. Its time to change that. NE usually by Week 17 aren't as up for that game as other weeks and the NE/NYJ rivalry isn't as must see TV as it was 2 or so years ago. Week 17 will have the Jets hosting the Pats led by Ryan "Fuck it, I'm goin' deep" Mallett.
I'd be very happy to get to week 10-12 before seeing the Pats. Give the team a chance to shape itself around whoever is the guy in the middle. And if Tommy happens to stub his toe in the meantime, I'm okay with that too.
If we do decide to lay an egg and lose to them, id rather it be early where we can bounce back instead of Week 14 and later where every win and lose really counts.
I would love to play the Patriots, Decker vs Revis in week 1 a great matchup right off the bat. Great way to set the tone for the season if we can get a win over a division rivalry.
"IF" I'd rather give the team a better chance to actually get that win rather than trying to prove a point by playing early. If Thanksgiving comes before the first meeting it certainly gives more time for the team to gel around whoever ends up driving the bus.
I think if Revis is matched up on Decker all game Decker is going to get disappeared. Hopefully the Jets draft a WR that's got some explosive skills to make Belichick move him around, because Decker v. Revis scares the crap out of me, to be honest.
Yeah, my main concern is that we roll into 2014 with Decker, a cavalcade of JAGs at the other WR spot and Kerley in the slot. The Jets need to be able to force Belichick to move Revis around a lot, because I think Decker can get loose from Browner enough to make a dent if our running game is worth a crap. Revis will definitely shut down whatever man he is covering at a given time, but if Decker is the most explosive option on the field and he's taken out of the game, it's going to be a slaughter.
that's still better than we have had since 2010 and I expect we'll see WR/TE addressed in the draft. It's always tough to count on a rookie but the talent level will be significantly upgraded.
