I think anybody with half a synapse understands cactus is worthless. Probably most of the fans here on this board do too.
I can't believe there are people who wouldn't trade any of these 3 players straight up for Cutler. Yeah it's nice to develop your own players, but QB is the most important position on the field. If you can get a pro bowl QB entering the prime of his career for a safety or linebacker especially, you have to do it.
The front 7 on a defense are far more important than the secondary. And a CB is more important than a safety. I'd trade Rhodes before the other two in a heart beat. Stopping the run is more important than anything Rhodes does and a shut down CB is far more valuable than a top safety.
Holy sh1t but look at what I did, I made a poll... and yet another J. Cutler thread... during the off-season. I hope I didn't crash the server or something.
We might be able to get Mangini to give up a 4th or a 5th for Thomas, but no other coach would give anything of value for him. And we can't get rid of him, we have no replacement
trading key defensive players with a defensive coach when we lack defensive depth at every unit=bullshit
I voted to give up none. I think it would be stupid. Do we really want to have a dominant defense or what? I haven't seen anything that specular in quite some time. I think it will be exciting to see other teams getting beat up and having a problem scoring. I will enjoy that probably more so than having a prolific offense. I don't want to give up any draft picks or anything. I like where we are positioned going into the draft. Cutler is way too expensive, IMO, franchise QB or not, and if by some quirk of fate Culter does not work out as planned, it will set this club back 3 to 4 years.
The Jets can't trade either Revis or Rhodes. Revis would cost 8 million against the cap and Rhodes would cost 15.5. The Jets are 10.5 under and have to pay the rookies out of that. Harris is the only viable defensive player that can be traded. Washington and Clemens are the only offensive players that have any value who the Jets could afford to trade.
