Nobody is factoring the weather into the game either. Weather is a very important factor in the game as well. If it rains or snows, advantage Jets.
So Ryan wanted to be handed his ass and be the most embarassed he's ever been in his career? < paraphrasing Ryans post game presser> Wow. And here we all thought BB was the cagiest coach in the NFL.
Any extreme weather conditions favors NE. Standard reasoning says it should favor the ground and pound team with a strong D, but the pars are an anomaly. Brady throws the same ball in 75 degree weather as he does in a blizzard. Plus a snowy field will slow down our already poor pass rush. Edit: sorry didn't read the whole thread
Yes. At 24-3 it was still a game. Here's your keys. Hit Buck Frady early, even if you take a penalty. Inside the 30, it's free reign..give up a score, but get him pissed at the guys that protect him, including the refs. He's not as much as a bitch as Manning...but..hit him..and he's a bitch. Play tight man up front. Have a LB signal for Buck Frady outside the pocket. When Buck runs outside... Tackle every receiver (no holding, no PI) that will make them start complaining. Ball Control Offense, limit possessions.
Well the weather report says that its going to be 32 and sunny at Foxboro on Sunday. Advantage Jets  Rex said that he made the defensive plan way too complicated last game. They couldn't adjust and you could clearly see they were confused as hell. Its about getting things right. Its about getting their mind right. Its about not turning the ball over. This should be a one possession game. 45-3 was just a abstract abomination.
I sure hope so, but I'm having a hard time being that confident. No one has shown any signs of slowing them down. I don't expect to get whooped again, but certainly won't be shocked if it happens.
Nothing would surprise me this Sunday. I guess the only thing that would surprise me is the Jets blowing the Patriots out cus the Jets don't blow anybody out.
The most I can see is 13pt margin but the game will feel closer than that 13 pts. I really think this reverts back to a week 2 type of game, but closer in the 2nd half. I think Green Bay gave everyone the blueprint. Matt Flynn can't finish it, but Sanchez can. I also think LT is going to go nuts here, because this is so personal to him. I really want to see him going apeshit after a good gain in this game. Its gives the entire team confidence. If the Jets can somehow silence the crowd early, I think they'll have a chance to win. This is the toughest game the Rex/Sanchez era has been in.
Like I said and everyone we lost our playcaller very untimely. Now with Smith back it shouldn't be anything like that game.
The way our D played last week against Manning was brilliant and set the tone for what we can do against the pats. It looks like we had extra coverage down low and were right on top of most short to medium routes, which is just what the Pats are thriving off of. Smith had a great game popping people as soon as the ball came in. We need to do this all game. Let them pay for dumping the ball off short, move everyone up in the box and dare Brady to beat you deep. Our strength is our corners, use that to our advantage. On offense, we need to play away from their strength which is Wilfork up the middle. That means, beat them on the edges with power sweeps and off tackle runs. Ditch the damn misdirection counter. It doesn't work when it's slow developing and you have a giant NT parking his ass in the middle of the field. Mangold and Moore need to blow that fat fuck away this game. They will dictate how well we control the ball and the clock.
I generally like E Smith, but that PI call in the end zone was when the deluge really took effect. IF Leonhard were in there that would not have happened. Now they will be practicing with E Smith all week. They should be much better prepared.
Our offense needs our defense to set them up. If the defense gets off to a bad start then the offense shuts down.
The Jets better beat the PATS!!!!! My buddies and I had the choice with the spouses to be green-lighted for either a road play-off game or Superbowl this year and I choose Superbowl.
