Nah, I'm not calling Revis a pussy in general, just saying he shied away from contact uncharacteristicly on that play. In fact, first I thought it was Cro on that play, until I saw the jersey number. Those arm tackles seem to be his specialty. I really thought we had Tebow contained the way the defense was playing, especially seeing Scott give him that good lick in the 1st quarter.
The problem is that Rex thinks Smith is a god for some odd reason. There's a good reason why TEs destroy us over the middle and that is because our safeties absolutely possitively and most definitely cannot cover. The one thing they do well is run defense, but last night on that specific play I couldn't believe my eyes. How in the hell do you not contain on that play if you are E. Smith?! Where the hell are you going?!?! Smith can't cover worth a sh1t, and we know that, but he's supposed to be a smart guy who can tackle well, so its just mind numbing to see him do that. The play call itself was idiotic... wtf are you trying to accomplish with an all out blitz?! They're already in FG range, its not like a sack is going to change that. The risk / reward on that play call was so fcked up that I don't understand how it even came up. All we had to do was rush 3, have a spy or two, have the rest of the team in zone coverage around the goal-line.. wtf was Tebow going to do? He was certainly NOT going to throw a TD, unless someone really fcked up the coverage, he's OBVIOUSLY going to run on 3d down. I don't care if you have 5 minutes to prepare for this game, all you gotta do is watch Sportscenter and know that Tebow will run on 3d down in that situation, there is no way in hell he passes that ball... . ARgghghhfhghghgh I thought I was going to feel better today, but its worst. While Tebow is defying logic by winning in this caca pooopoo fashion, the Jets are defying logic by handing games away in the same fashion. It's infuriating!!!!!!! Oh well, one thing we can say about being a Jet fan... never a dull moment that's for damn sure I don't know, last night we set the edge brilliantly for all but 5 min of the game.
