Yeah I'm sick of hearing Schotty needing to get into a rhythm. He should have a gameplan that could tear their defense a new asshole. Obviously the entire world knows we are going to come out running, I'd come out passing all over the place until they stop us. Spread them out, I'd love to see a empty backfield.
OMG - PLEASE take off your red white and blue homer glasses after you pull your head from your ass. Belicheat is respected cause he has the wins in his pocket. But if for one minute you think the "general NFL fanbase" likes Belli more than Rex, you are out of your skull. Even the classless, dumb DulPhag fans have discussed how Rex Ryan is a great coach and they would love to see MIA get Rob Ryan. Just cause your coach thinks his team should be treated like fort knox, doesn't mean its what is appealing. Its effective, but it may not be liked.
WHile Tate has been with the Pats all season, he's not even getting two catches per game. Branch is averaging more than 4. How often do the Pats go to three wideout sets?
They are usually in 2 TE, 2 WR, 1 RB sets, but the two tight ends can lineup anywhere. It's usually Welker, Branch then two of either Down sndyrome gronkowski, pothead hernandez or crumpler along with Woodhead or the guy with 4 names.
I'm with you. Let them prove to us that that (looks funny but sounds right) sieve they call a defensive secondary can cover our wideouts. Let's see how well they match up with Keller and with LT coming out of the backfield. Personally, I don't see how they stop us. Grounding out 20 points against this defense is bullshit. There's no reason we shouldn't light them up for 30 points.
If we have a passing game that's capable of starting the game w/a crisp no huddle passing and catching game that moves the f'ng chains and convert in the RZ that could be a great game plan. Look, we have a young QB and one of the lowest passing pct offenses in the NFL (51%) and one of the lowest completion pct. (55%). In other words, about half of our infrequent pass plays fail. The Pats own the worst pass defense in the NFL - they are dead last in numerous pass defense categories including opponent completion pct, completions per game, pass yds per game and pass 1st downs per game. So we have a poor/mediocre passing offense led by a young and improving qb against one of the worst passing defenses. theoretically - IF we can execute our passing game - it could be a good idea to come out throwing ..... or it could be a disasterous failure: The steelers only had 16 running plays but they threw the ball often and well against the pats and they got killed. Indy threw 52 times and ran 20 times and they got killed. In contrast the Browns literally ran the Pats D over 44 rushing plays to 19 pass plays and they killed the pats. Basically - if you can keep the best QB in the NFL (Tom Brady) off the field - thats a good thing. If you pass alot against the pats - you will give the ball to Brady and you will give him more time to work with. So I don't necessarily disagree with trying to pass the ball on the pats, but I think we'll have to be successful on the ground in order to win. I personally think that Bellichick is okay with forcing Sanchez to beat him as GB did, b/c he knows that Sanchez has not been as consistently good as Brady has and that the Jets have a problem scoring in the RZ whereas Brady & the Pats execute much better in the RZ. So from Bellichick's perspective its sort of like - yeah go ahead and pass on my shitty pass defense, chances are you will misfire and then I can give the ball back to Brady... Its a chess match...
Watch the Jets-Pats game to this soundtrack next week... Pure epicness
Honestly maybe I'm alone here, but let the Pats get all the love. It will make victory on monday night even sweeter. I'd much rather be the underdog and prove to everyone that they were wrong, to me it makes the game that much more fun. We all know where we belong, let the critics keep doubting us, I know Rex Ryan doesn't care, he believes in the team just like I do. The so called "experts" can think what they want. How sweet it will be to hear them eat their crow later on.
Fuck that! The best place to be is when expectations are high. How bout that? Let's go git it.
Personally, I hate the empty backfield- with the exception of obvious passing situations (3rd and more than 6 for example). It basically tells the defense pre-snap that we're passing and while we have more folks out in patterns, we don't have the flexibility of keeping anybody in to block. I'm all for spreading the Pats out and attacking what should be their weakness, but I'd like to keep a back in there to keep the threat of the run on their mind. Better yet, spread em out with 3 wide + 1 TE and run it with LT or Greene. I'd rather the defense have to guess what we're doing, but what do I know? There's probably a reason why I'm not an NFL offensive coordinator
Of course they get the media love. They won 3 SBs and they have the best qb in the NFL. 3 SB wins & a great QB tends to attract some serious media love. The media doesn't care about mike vick killing dogs and running an illegal dog fighting operation - they sure as hell don't care about bellichick cheating for yrs and receiving the biggest individual fines in NFL history for his transgressions. The only thing the media cares about is - who gets the best ratings and who wins. Personally i could care less what the media opinion is on the pats.
Don't worry, after our 3rd Superbowl under Rex Ryan's regime, we'll get plenty of love too. First one comes this season.
Respect? Jets: Your org. is comprised of get rich quick (successful quick) schemes. Meaning, you have a 1 year window to win it all. Wise azz coaches, and players who name other players as slouches and quiters. Why would they have a National following? Why would a Father tell his kids that The Jets are a great team? The Jets are the NFL's clown car, with Rex Ryan driving.
they have a QB and a coach who have multiple SB rings, and currently are tied for the best record in the league, so they have a history of being able to continue their play all the way through to championships. plenty of teams in NFL history have been in the position of the Jets -- best record in the league, but then fail to win the Super Bowl. The Pats have a history of having the best record and winning a Super Bowl, thus it is very likely they will do so again considering they are driven by the same two most important personnel as those championships, which makes them extremely relevant, not irrelevant. not sure why this even has to be explained.
they were the best team in the decode of the 2000s They won 3 Sbs, Played in 4. had the first ever 16-0 season They won the 2nd most games of the decade (colts won the most) They deserve the respect hate them or not. Its funny taht the best teams this decade were all AF My Rank 1) Pats (2nd most wins, 3 SBs 4 appearances won their division 7 out of 10 times) 2) Colts (most wins in the decade. 1 SB win, 2 appearances, won division 9 out of 10 times) 3) Pitt (2 SB wins out of 2 appearances, made the playoffs 9 out of 10 years)
