Yep. And he's just another example of how INEPT Rex is as a HEAD coach. I can remember years ago when Dallas was paying Drew Bledsoe big money and Parcells said "this kid Romo keeps showing me a log talent in practice and pre-season." I had never even heard of Romo at that time. Then Parcells let him run with the starters in pre-season and he lit it up. If someone shows talent-give them a shot. Maybe they'll blow it and prove they belong on the practice squad. Or maybe they'll be a playmaker. But I'm sure Rex will keep Simms in mop up work to let the Sanchize get his reps and throw more picks. (See Woodhead for more on this).
I love when Jet fans wanna see more out of 3rd and 4 th string QB's , there's no need to see anymore of a career 4th stringer
the Sanchez haters are letting it all hang out which is not a surprise since A) the Jets won the game and the haters hate it when the Jets win; B) Mark had a good performance last night and C) Mark looks to be well on his way to earning the starting QB job. Nice win by the Jets and good overall performance by the Jets Offense. Have a great day haters.
Only Sanchez nut sackers can claim he had a good performance last night. 13-23 , 169 yds 1td, 1int is not a "good" performance. Average to slightly below average maybe, good only in terms of how Sanchez could play not compared to real NFL starting QB's. He blew 2 red zone opportunities and then the team scored 2 td's without him throwing a single pass in the red zone, becuase they didn't want to hurt his fragile psyche.
And we have seen one quarter from Simms, is that enough to say he deserves a shot with the 1s over Sanchez, Geno, and McElroy? They are completely different scenarios. Woodhead vs McKnight was more about what was invested in them. We had more invested in McKnight and the FO and Rex decided to keep McKnight. We had LT and Greene as the key starters splitting carries and had Braylon, Jco, Keller, Holmes, Smith in the receiving core. We really had no room for Woodhead and McKnight, but we just used a 4th on McKnight. If we cut McKnight, the Pats would have scooped him up and used him just as effectively.
hahahaha every Jets fan wants their team to win. Jets fans want their team to win with every unit of the team acting like the best in the league with every player playing like the best in the league. A) The Jets won a preseason game changing their overall record from 0-0 to 0-0. They cut down on their penalties, but had trouble tackling, converting RZ opportunities to points, and slowing down the hurry up. B) Mark did not have a good performance yesterday. The offense had 2 RZ trips in the first half for 0 points! In what world is that a good performance? We were down 13-10 at halftime because we gave away points. Just like we were down last game at halftime because we gave away points. You can't give away points! It was an average to below average game from Sanchez with 2 really good drives where you think "oh man this kid is finally getting it" and then the rest of the drives thinking "what happened to the kid that looked like he got it". C) At least this point is correct. Although he had a chance to nail down the job last night and he didn't do it. If he went out and lit up the Jags, Rex would call the competition over. Instead he gave us typical Sanchez leaving the door open for another week. It was just him playing at QB yesterday, he could have ended all competition, instead he takes a lead over Geno by default since Geno is hurt.
If Sims was not PS eligible I would rather keep him over McElroy, but since he is, I definitely want to give him another year on PS and then bring him up for the 2-3 spot. You never know what you have until they are in the real game, and I saw what McElroy looked like even brief as it was, he did not scare anyone with his arm last year or how much time he spent on the turf. MM likes a canon for an arm and Sims has the best on the team.
did you even watch the game? or are you so blinded by your hero worship for Suckchez that all you can do is ignore his putrid play!
leading 5 scoring drives in 3 quarters of play w/only 2 screw ups is a good performance for sanchez. feel free to disagree and you will be wrong. he effectively led and executed the offense as the Jets beat up the jags. if u r 2 clueless to see that he had a good game then you r a dumbass hater. I liked that he played 3 quarters and was productive with some nice completions down the field. It looks like he is much more comfortable in MM's offense and he was able to find open receivers and he also had good protection for the most part. the RZ INT was absolutely horrible but overall Sanchez played well. Only a dumbass hater would disagree. If that is you, then own it. He wasn't perfect - but he moved the chains and we scored 5 times. If u don't want to be fair that is up to you. But as someone who just wants the best players to play and as someone who was opposed to drafting Sanchez and opposed to starting him immediately... I'd say that Sanchez had a solid performance. Overall a good job. Too bad Geno and Gmac were too injured to play - but hey that's football - you gotta play. The sanchez haters just come off as being biased. He had a pretty good night, give him his props and be fair.
