I'd rather trade SUCKCHEZ now and keep Geno, Gmac and Simms and let them all develop. Loved what I saw from Simms last night!
I didn't get to see Simms because NFLHD cut to the Seattle game once the Jet game went to garbage time. Dang
I'll catch the replay this week and give it a close look. Everybody sez this kid has a cannon and just needs some work.
Sims looked pretty good. Good to know that the 4th string qb is able to succeed against the Jags scrubs.
Sanchez played like crap against those same "scrubs" though. What is it about Sanchez that makes folks make so much excuses for him?
Moved the chains, 5 Scoring Drives and 27 Points scored. No Excuses needed homey. Wake up and smell the coffee. If you want to hate on Mark Just admit you are a Sanchez hater. Own it.
He had one good drive and was crap the rest of the way. You notice how they didn't even let him throw in the redzone? In the 2nd half? Did you see his int last night? All his shit throws, yes he "led" a few scoring drives but he didn't look good doing it. You're crediting Mark for leading 2 scoring drives against 2nd and 3rd stringers but then wanna shrug off Simms looking better against those same players.
The rational thing to do at this point would be to have Geno Smith start the season or Greg McElroy if you think Smith just isn't ready. Then have Simms be the 3rd string QB as a true developmental prospect. McElroy has a low ceiling because of his skills but he's a serviceable backup/3rd stringer. Simms on the other hand might be more than that if he ever gets the mental part of being a QB fully under control. He might not be accurate enough to play QB, like Sanchez, but there's no question that the arm is there.
well simms looked like the second coming of marino to me. they really should get him in against better competition. whatever label he has on his forehead the jets should peel it off. they may have something there.
You come off as really biased right now. Let's break Sanchez's drives. 1st quarter, played great. Looked confident, made decisive decisions, led them to 10 points. Great drives, what we need from Sanchez. 2nd quarter, INT in red zone, 3 and out, 0 points in RZ and mismanaging the clock. Absolutely a bad quarter under every standard. 3 drives, one started in the RZ for 0 points, one got to the RZ and got 0 points, the other was a 3 and out. 3rd quarter: 1st drive, really low pass to Braylon who made a nice grab, then 3 plays and punt. 0 points. 2nd drive, Redeems himself a bit. He was playing with second stringers against second stringers so I put more weight on the 1st half which was 1st vs 1st. Here he makes two good passes, then the Jets don't go near him in the RZ going run, run, run, run for the TD. 3rd drive: starts at the JAX 11: run, run, run, run, run TD. Sanchez did so much here! You can give him credit here for a scoring drive, but that's bias. He did the least possible thing expected of a QB this drive, which is take the snap without fumbling, hand off to the running back without fumbling. These two 3rd quarter drives were mostly the Khalil Bell fighting for a spot on the team drives. So in total, Sanchez was allowed to throw the ball on 3 RZ drives we got 3 points. Sanchez was not allowed to throw on 2 other RZ drives (with the second stringers and we got 14 points). Sanchez's 1st Q: Great Sanchez's 2nd Q: Bad Sanchez's 3rd: Average That totals to an average night from him.
There's no trade market for Sanchez at this point. He has the contract of a middling starting QB not a backup.
He led and executed 5 scoring drives. put 27 points on the board and the jets won the game. That is a good night whether the QB is Geno, GMac or Sanchez. I am not a Sanchez worshipper at all - I didn't even want to draft him. But I think some Jets fans have decided to be ridiculously hyper critical of Mark even when he plays well. The reaction of the haters to last night is a great example of the haters being hyper critical of Sanchez. Apparently unless Sanchez is perfect the haters will insist he was lousy/average at best. Try to be fair and recognize that he led numerous successful scoring drives. That is what his job is and he did it successfully. btw I'd love to see Geno light it up and win the starting job in wk 3. But Sanchez turned in a good performance last night and the haters need to take a deep breath and try to be fair instead of just coming off like hyper critical biased ass clowns.
You do realize two of those scores were not against Jacksonville's 1st team D....right? ONE of them, he handed the ball off every down, and the other he made bad throws. What starting QB was in the game in the 3rd quarter this week? I'll wait...
