The D'Backs didn't sign their first round pick (6th overall) Barret Loux after he failed a physical. He now becomes a free agent. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=5471067 It's rumored he has some pretty serious arm issues (already had elbow surgery, may need TJS, possibly has a bad labrum), but all it costs to sign him is money. Yanks should take a flyer on him, it's less of a risk than Brackman.

Yeah, I read that report earlier this morning. Good stuff, especially the improvement on his fastball.
Zach McAllister to Cleveland to complete the Kearns trade. In a great year for Yankee pitching prospects, this guy just fell apart once AAA hitters caught up to him. http://twitter.com/ed_price/status/21702662607 Also, scouting report on Dellin Betances' last start: http://mlb.fanhouse.com/2010/08/20/full-scouting-report-dellin-betances/
Yankees send Damon Oppenheimer and Billy Eppler to scout Japanese phenom Yu Darvish. http://twitter.com/npbtracker/status/21701392361
Davish's stuff is lightning in a bottle. I wouldn't be surprised if there was another bid over 50 mil just to talk to the guy.

What's Darvish's deal? Didn't he say he doesn't have a desire to play in America at this point and time? Btw AM, great stuff. This thread is a good read.
In the past he has stated his desire to succeed as a professional solely in Japan, and there's been speculation he's worried about an anti-Iranian sentiment in the U.S. (Darvish's father is Iranian). I don't remember seeing a quote from him on this, so it could be a total fabrication.
Banuelos and Betances were both promoted to Trenton. They'll be starting at home Monday and Tuesday, respectively, if anyone in the area is interested in seeing them.
