that's actually what I was thinking. Instead of using everyone, Girardi should've sent Gaudin out to pitch three innings or so. If Gaudin wasn't going to start, you may as well use him to eat up a few innings. Obviously they're going to write that, because this way he only gets one start instead of two. Even though Girardi made a mistake by pitching Burnett tonight, the Yankees still have a big advantage. If the Phillies hold on, they'd have to win Game 6 and 7 on the road, and I really don't think they'll win Game 7 if they use Hamels. Manuel for some reason has been refusing to use the guy who was the best Phillies pitcher in the regular season: J.A. Happ. They simply don't have a good situation for Games 6 and 7. I would actually start Happ in Game 6 and Pedro in Game 7, and that's assuming they can hold on to Game 5, which is not a given.
It looked like Gardner hit the wall on purpose I've seen him do that before too, instead on bracing for contact he just takes it.
if I was Gardner and I never got to play because I didnt belong in the major leagues, I may fucking swing the bat when I actually did get to play
Lee is at 91 pitches. If Manuel trusted the bullpen, that would've been a good time to pinch hit for him. He was leading off the inning, so no opportunity for a bunt, and you want him to throw less pitches so he could potentially be more effective on two days rest out of the bullpen in Game 7. He doesn't, so he wants Lee to go at least 7, and he might try to stretch him to 8.
I think most around, including myself picked yanks in 6. So were right on track. If you had the choice wouldnt you rather win it at home? I mean, stretching the series is never good because anything can happen, but i'd rather win it in the Bronx
Utley is setting all kinds of records. Tied Mr. October's WS HR record. Assuming this goes back to NY, he'll have a chance to break it.
