a weak tip foul by Cano puts him at 0-2

he points his bat to center field and then hits one foul the other way, keeping it 0-2

Stadium quiet, waiting for the Yankees to wake up.

    Umpire calls for time.

Very short lead by Posada. Cano fouls another one off, this time back.

    Still 0-2.

Posada grounds to Cuddyer, who throws to second for the force. The return to first was a split-second late and dropped anyway.

    Fielder's choice force

    runner on first, 2 outs

Swisher pulls the first pitch foul.

bouncing up and down, Swisher attempts to check his swing on a breaking ball in the dirt, but went well too far.

    0-2

Duensing doing a good job getting ahead of hitters.

a throw over and Cano is easily back

Duensing has a circle change grip

    pitch is high. 1-2

fourth pitch was close, but the ump rules it a shade low. was right at the knees or a smidge lower

    2-2

next pitch in a similar spot and swish lines it to left

throw home would've had Cano, but it was a little up the first base line

    aggressive coaching there.

throw did beat the runner, but Delmon Young one hopped to Cabrera and then Cabrera was not accurate

Swisher stands on 2nd with 2 outs.

Cabrera fouls off the second pitch and it's 0-2 on him as well. Last three batters have been 0-2.

Cabrera strikes out swinging on three pitches, making the decision look good

Duensing owned Melky in that AB.

Punto hits a soft liner the other way that would've been a hit had it been placed better.

Instead, Cano was able to make a small jump and get it. Hit right to him

Here's the top of the order. Span falls behind 0-2

Cabrera hits a ground ball, not hard. To Jeter's right and he couldn't stop it from getting to the OF. Single. Even had he managed to cut it off, it would've been very difficult to get Cabrera at first.

Cabrera checks his swing on the first pitch, but his bat tipped the ball

    0-1

Cabrera gets a good jump and steals second on a pitch that missed the plate

    Posada's throw was way late

    1-1 count

1-1 pitch is well inside and didn't miss Mauer's jersey by much.

    2-1

plastic bag blows in front of home plate and play is stopped.

    Sabathia muttering to himself.

Cano displays good range to his left and manages to get in front of the Mauer grounder and throws out Mauer.

    Halfway through, it's 3-2 Yankees

Sabathia at 87 pitches through 5.

Normally, this would be one more inning, but Girardi may try to get two more.

    Jeter takes a moderate lead.

Mauer manages to scoop a ball way outside and in the dirt. Backhanded it. Nice play, but that's not technically sound.

    1-1 count

Scik said I'm not a Yankees fan, but I'm one of three people commenting on this game.

I guess I'm just an over-active baseball fan

Wind has calmed down a little bit, as was expected as we got deeper into the night

    Damon grounds to Cuddyer.

    Jeter takes second

    Teixeira pops out to second.

I am very grateful that I am not listening to Sterling and Waldman right now.

Here's A-Roid with Jeter on second and two outs.
