    A. He isn't coming back, ever.
    B. If he does, he'll spin it to say he meant ONLY in 2009, and that NOW Sanchez is better.

The Jets still had Edwards on the roster until last off season. I don't know where you get this two years number from. He had over 900 yards in 2010 with a mediocre Qb. Is anyone on the team other than Holmes capable of putting up those numbers? Perhaps Kerley, but that is hardly a sure thing. Hardly.

Ftr I was all for keeping Edwards last off season. To me it looked like they didn't even try to keep him. They were all in on Burress. Woody wanted to make the Giants look bad by bringing him back and having him succeed. All along Edwards was the better option, and I thought so at the time.

And for other posters defending Tanny here, the metric is not how many other NFL teams passed on him. Most other NFL teams are not in as desperate a need of wideout help as the Jets. And for various reasons they may not have the same fit for Edwards as the Jets did.

And the fact that Edwards got injured playing for the niners HARDLY means that would also have happened if he had stayed with the Jets. People who make that kind of argument do not have even the simplest understanding of how the world works.

It is an entirely appropriate discussion here to point out that the Jets mishandled the Edwards situation, and now are weak at wideout. That is on Tanny, who I hope is soon to be replaced.

Again, the point that is worht discussing here is not, and I agree with you, how Edwards might come back. He is not. But it is entirely fair to point out that the FO F'd this one up along with several others.

Edwards definitely is not coming back. This Jets team is focusing on their young talent at WR. Edwards doesn't fit the offense this year for that reason so he shouldn't come back. Even though he would put up points this year those young WRs need experience on the field for the long term success of the offense.

You'd think Braylon Edwards was a career Jet and future hall of famer the way fans can't get over him, not a distraction off the field who had one great year as a Jet in a contract year, who before that was known more for his drops than anything else.

Braylon wasn't the perfect player, but he was a better fit for Sanchez and our offense than any other receiver we've had here including Cotch and Holmes. That's why there's so many Jets fans (myslef included) can't get over losing him.
