Having signed two Jets free agents last week, the Washington Redskins continued their invasion of New York on Thursday as they signed RB/KR Chad Morton to an offer sheet. The total value is $8M, which includes a $2.5M signing bonus. Now the Jets have one week to match this offer and keep Morton. If the Jets don't match, they will receive Washington's 5th round pick in the upcoming NFL Draft.
In other news, the Jets will open the 2003 regular season on Sept. 4th against... the Washington Redskins. The game will be broadcast nationwide on ABC.
