According to the Star Ledger, the Jets have extended the contract of defensive coordinator Donnie Henderson for three more years.

Last season, the 10-6 Jets ranked seventh in the NFL in total defense, fifth against the run. They finished fourth in fewest points allowed (16.3 per game) and tied for fourth in takeaways (33). The unit also boasted the AFC's Defensive Rookie of the Year in middle linebacker Jonathan Vilma.
