The Gang Green backups dominated the Philadelphia Eagles' backups tonight, as the Jets easily cruised to a 37-14 win.

QB Chad Pennington played just one series where he completed all of his 3 passes for a total of 27 yards. The drive, which culminated in a 5-yard TD run by RB Derrick Blaylock, put the Jets on top, 7-0. Later in the first quarter the Jets added three more points when PK Mike Nugent converted a 48-yard field goal attempt, his longest of this preseason. Nugent converted another field goal in the second quarter, extending the lead to 13-0. Then, the Gang Green added 14 more points when RB Little John Flowers and WR Chas Gessner scored touchdowns, making the score an embarrassing 27-0.

In the second half the Eagles finally scored, but the Jets quickly responded when S Rashad Washington scored on a 99-yard interception return. Later in the fourth quarter Mike Nugent scored another field goal, finishing the night 3 for 3 in field goal attempts.

Rookie TE Joel Dreessen led the team with 3 catches for 38 yards. RB Little John Flowers gained 74 yards on 18 carries. RB Terry Buttler and RB Derrick Blaylock added 61 and 45 yards respectively, as the Jets gained a total of 188 yards on the ground.

S Kerry Rhodes recorded yet another interception and also had 3 pass defenses. S Rashad Washington had 10 tackles (9 solo), besides his interception, and also 2 pass defenses. S Atari Bigby made 4 tackles (4 solo), intercepted one pass and defended 5 more.

Unfortunately, the Jets might have lost another player to an injury, as OT Marko Kavka may have fractured his wrist.

Next Sunday the Jets will travel to Kansas City to take on the Chiefs in week 1 of regular season. The kickoff time is at 1:00 PM ET.
