Jets Preseason

Jets lead at halftime, 17-13

Admin - August 29, 2009

For the second game in a row QB Mark Sanchez started slowly and then noticeably picked it up as the game progressed. Following a few empty possessions to start the half, Sanchez found his rhythm and led the Jets on a 62-yard drive that culminated in a 31-yard touchdown pass to WR Chansi Stuckey.

On the following possession Sanchez led the Jets inside the Giants' territory, but the Gang Green had to settle for a field goal. Earlier in the half RB Thomas Jones scored from 1-yard line after the Jets intercepted Eli Manning in the Giants' territory.

Despite being under pressure most of the time Sanchez has shown great poise and decision making. He has not made any mistakes and completed 10 of 16 for 116 yards, 1 TD in the first half.

RB Leon Washington has averaged over 6 yards per carry on 5 carries in the first half.

WR David Clowney is totally invisible, not a single throw to him thus far.

LB Bart Scott was beaten on the Giants' touchdown, but rebounded with a hit on a Giants' tight end that led to an interception by LB David Harris and then also recovered a fumble when he took the ball away from Jacobs.

CB Lito Sheppard has been picked on all game so far. He's looked quite shaky, and was called twice for a pass interference.

LB Vernon Gholston has been alright. He's applied pressure a few times and run down a Giants' running back, as the latter was breaking through the Jets' secondary.
