Injury concerns for Jets secondary

Admin - September 30, 2009

As we reported earlier today, CB Lito Sheppard (quad), CB Donald Strickland (ankle) and S Jim Leonhard (knee) did not practice this morning. Now it appears that both CB Darrelle Revis (hamstring) and S Kerry Rhodes (knee) were added to the injury report as well and limited in practice this morning. So, basically the entire Jets' secondary is now on the injury report (4 starters and the nickel back).

The New Orleans Saints are #1 in the league in total offense (438 yards per game) and #6 in the league in passing offense (267.3 yards per game). The Saints also lead the league with 120 points scored, the most by a team through the first three weeks of a season since 1968 (Dallas, 132) and the fourth-highest all-time.

Jets Injury Report:

DID NOT PARTICIPATE IN PRACTICE
T Wayne Hunter (not injury related), LB Larry Izzo (hamstring), S Jim Leonhard (knee), CB Lito Sheppard (quadricep), CB Donald Strickland (ankle)

LIMITED PARTICIPATION IN PRACTICE
CB Darrelle Revis (hamstring), S Kerry Rhodes (knee)

FULL PARTICIPATION IN PRACTICE
DT Kris Jenkins (groin), DT Sione Pouha (ankle), G Matt Slauson (ankle), T Damien Woody (shoulder), WR Wallace Wright (quadricep)

If a player does not participate in practice at all, he will be usually listed as "out" and sometimes as "doubtful". If a player has limited participation in practice, it usually means he will be "questionable" for the game. Full participation usually means "probable" on Friday's injury report.
