The New York Jets are down 3-17 at halftime against the New Orleans Saints, as two mistakes by rookie QB Mark Sanchez resulted in 14 points for the Saints. First, Sanchez threw an interception that was returned 99 yards for a touchdown. Then, he had another attack of fumbelitis when he held onto the ball for too long in the Jets' end zone, was sacked and fumbled. This was Sanchez' fifth fumble this season, he has lost two of them.

The Jets defense, on the other hand, has been very solid thus far. The high powered Saints gained only 158 yards and 8 first downs in the first half. QB Drew Brees is 10 of 19 for 104 yards.

Another positive was the introduction of rookie RB Shonn Greene who finally had the first few carries of his NFL career. Greene has gained 20 yards on 3 carries. RB Thomas Jones, in comparison, has only 12 yards on 6 carries.

The Jets' offense will have to step up in the second half, while the defense will have to force some turnovers to get back in this game.
