Jets Regular Season

Jets embarrass themselves in Miami

Admin - October 13, 2009

What an embarrassing loss! One of the most disgusting losses in recent memory... Just when we, Jets fans, began believing in Rex Ryan's defense, they produced a total stinker in Miami, losing 27-31 to the Dolphins. No, it wasn't QB Mark Sanchez making mistakes that cost us this game, it wasn't fumbles or interceptions, it was the heralded Jets' defense that, we thought, was one of the best in the league. Boy, were we wrong! This defense got manhandled by Miami's wildcat offense and their 2nd year quarterback with basically no pro experience.

This loss is still really hard to comprehend, as I don't think many people expected Miami to gain over 400 yards against this new Jets' defense. None of the many stars on the defense made any big plays, no one stepped up when they had to step up. Only NT Kris Jenkins was making big plays from time to time, while the rest of the defense just stunk it up! CB Darrelle Revis got burned on a deep touchdown pass, LB Calvin Pace, whose return from suspension was supposed to boost this defense, was missing tackles and getting caught out of position. Hell, LB Vernon Gholston would have probably looked better there.

The Jets went from 3-0 to 3-2 and from top 10 in power rankings to likely out of the top 10 tomorrow. We'll have a full review of this game early tomorrow.
