Jets Regular Season

Jets lose to Pats, Sanchez remains starter

QB Mark Sanchez will start again next week despite throwing 4 interceptions and losing a fumble in a 14-31 loss against the New England Patriots. Head coach Rex Ryan said that he had no plans on benching the rookie, as sitting on the bench will not help him improve. This was the second time this season when Sanchez turned the ball over 5 times in one game.

The Gang Green were completely outplayed and outcoached this afternoon. When it began looking like they had a chance to get back in this game, Mark Sanchez threw yet another interception.

The Jets were unable to find a way to stop WR Wes Welker who caught 15 passes for 192 yards. CB Darrelle Revis, however, played well covering Randy Moss and limiting New England's receiver to only 5 catches for 34 yards (3 of those catches came when Moss was covered by other players).

RB Thomas Jones was another bright spot, as he gained 103 yards on 21 carries.

WR Braylon Edwards was absolutely atrocious. He caught just one of 5 passes thrown to him and dropped at least two of those.

But back to Sanchez, yes he can only get better by playing but we don't see any improvement whatsoever. Of course, it's too early to throw the word "bust" in here, but right now he's hurting the team. The Jets lost today mostly for two reasons - inability to stop Welker and horrendous play by Sanchez. He's hurting the team and by letting him play the Jets basically give up on this season. Although, at 4-6 and losing 6 of last 7, I guess it's indeed time to give up on this season....
