Jets Regular Season

Three Jets go to Pro Bowl

Admin - December 29, 2009

C Nick Mangold, OG Alan Faneca and CB Darrelle Revis will represent the New York Jets in the 2010 Pro Bowl, which will be played on Sunday, January 31, 2010 at Dolphin Stadium.

12-year veteran OG Alan Faneca will make his ninth consecutive Pro Bowl trip and his second as a Jet.

C Nick Mangold earns his second trip to the Pro Bowl and will be the starting center. Last year he also made the squad but was a backup behind former Jets C Kevin Mawae.

CB Darrelle Revis will also make his second consecutive trip to Pro Bowl. He has played a pivotal role for the Jets’ No. 1 ranked defense that is allowing a league-low 264.3 yards per game and 163.9 passing yards per game. Revis is also tied for the second place in the AFC with 6 interceptions. Last season, just like Mangold, Revis made the Pro Bowl as a backup.

Last season the Jets had a total of seven players in the Pro Bowl. Besides the above mentioned trio, the Gang Green's Pro Bowl roster also included QB Brett Favre, RB Leon Washington, RB Thomas Jones and NT Kris Jenkins.

This season Favre made the Pro Bowl as a member of the Vikings, Washington and Jenkins are out for the season, and Jones did not make the main roster despite being #2 in the AFC in rushing.

Jones, OT D'Brickashaw Ferguson and LB Bart Scott are among first choice alternatives, while DE Shaun Ellis and LB David Harris are among second choice alternatives.
