According to ESPN.com, offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer declined the chance to interview for the Buffalo head coaching job this week or after the season. Schottenheimer has remarked throughout the season how much he enjoys working with new Jets head coach Rex Ryan, rookie QB Mark Sanchez, and how truly content he is with his current job as the offensive coordinator of the league's top-ranked running attack.

As we reported yesterday, CB Lito Sheppard missed yesterday's practice session. It turns out that the reason for his absence was that his wife gave birth to a boy.

Jets RB Leon Washington yesterday sounded upbeat about how the rehabilitation is going with his fractured leg. He's pretty sure that he will be ready for 2010 season.

WR Braylon Edwards missed practice Tuesday because he was in a Cleveland courtroom, where he pleaded no contest to aggravated disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor. Edwards received probation, a suspended 180-day jail sentence and a $1,000 fine for punching a man outside a Cleveland nightclub in October.
