Revis Returns To Jets OTA

CB Darrelle Revis, who skipped a voluntary practice last Thursday because he was unhappy with his contract negotiations, rejoined the Jets on Tuesday for their next-to-last offseason practice. The All-Pro cornerback is looking for a long-term extension with a salary that would make him the highest paid player at his position.

According to Jets GM Mike Tannenbaum, the Jets are willing to renegotiate Revis' contract as long as it's "within reason." Revis is under contract with the Jets for $1M this season. He has reached playing time incentives that will void the final two years of his six-year, $36M rookie deal. The team has the option to buy back the final two years for $20M, or he will become an unrestricted free agent.

The Jets have several long-term deals to get done this summer, including C Nick Mangold and MLB David Harris, who are in the final years of their deals, and OT D'Brickashaw Ferguson, signed through this year with a $10M option for 2011.

The Jets will hold an open practice at the New Meadowlands Stadium on June 16th. Follow us on twitter, as TheGangGreen.com will be posting play by play updates from the practice session.
