Darrelle Revis named AFC Defensive Player of week 6

CB Darrelle Revis' brilliant performance against the Miami Dolphins did not go unnoticed, as the All-Pro cornerback was named the AFC Defensive Player of Week 6. Revis recorded three tackles, four passes defensed and tied a career-high with two interceptions, including a 100-yard interception-return touchdown in the Jets' 24-6 win over the Dolphins. His 100-yard interception-return touchdown tied for the longest interception returned for a touchdown in team history (CB Aaron Glenn also had a 100-yard return on September 15, 1996). This was the third game of his career with two interceptions and the Jets are 3-0 in such contests. In his fifth season from Pittsburgh, this is Revis' second career Defensive Player of the Week Award. He previously won the award in 2009 (Week 12).

Through Week 6, the Jets' defense is tied for third in the NFL with nine interceptions.

Meanwhile, C Nick Mangold (ankle) was not dressed for practice today and worked off to the side with CB Isaiah Trufant (hamstring). Neither have practiced this week. DL Ropati Pitoitua (knee) was in pads doing individual drills as well as CB Antonio Cromartie (groin).
